Job Overview

  1. A project engineer will be assigned to either the RDM Scope, Plant Modification Scope or Tooling Scope of the project.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Complete tasks associated with the MTL role as described in N-PROC-MP-0090
  2. Review Design and project deliverables
  3. Perform oversight on the vendor’s design and fabrication activities
  4. Support advancement of project schedule and deliverables while controlling project costs as per the business case
  5. Produce documentation, reports, plans, procedures, etc. as required to advance project objectives
  6. Work individually or as part of a team to advance project objectives
  7. Seek support or assistance from Project Manager or other team members, as required
  8. Participate in unit, system and integration testing necessary to commission deliverable(s)
  9. Prepare or revise appropriate documentation, i.e. procedures, test plans, reports
  10. Interface with project stakeholders, suppliers, customers, as well as other OPG functional areas, i.e. supply chain, controlled documents/records
  11. Conduct work safely in accordance with all OPG procedures and policies
  12. Follow and support applicable governance, i.e: Project Management, Engineering Change Control
  13. Support Project Schedule and Budget
  14. Make recommendations to advance the project schedule
  15. Problem solving and troubleshooting, providing technical support and/or advice as required.


  1. Successful candidate will need to be an experienced project engineering or leader in the nuclear industry. 
  2. Experienced individuals will need to come in with little time for ramp up and will be expected to take a leadership role on the project.
  3. PMP designation is preferred.
  4. Professional engineer or similar education
  5. Motivated self starter
  6. Experience working on projects preferably in Nuclear
  7. Working as a project team member with experience in large, complex and multifaceted technical projects
  8. Working as an individual and in teams
  9. Working with stakeholders
  10. Articulate and effective communicator in English (both written and verbal)
  11. Experience executing technical projects – either design support or project management support
  12. OPG specific project experience as an MTL or project coordinator
  13. Familiarity with nuclear Engineering Change Control Process
  14. Experience with Automation
  15. Experience with Reactor Inspection Tooling
  16. Experience with Fuel Handling
  17. Experience working at PNGS and DNGS sites. 
  18. Familiarity with the station and station stakeholders.
