Our Public Sector client in Toronto is looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst for a  16-month contract opportunity.

The consultant will actively support the project team engaged in the modernization and transformation initiative by providing a full range of business analysis services for the following projects:

  • Case management
  • Trust accounting
  • Corporate finance
  • Document management
  • Data management

Deliverables:

The position reports directly to the Manager, Portfolio Management Office and is responsible for providing support to the Project Management Office (PMO) of a large-scale project in the analysis of documentation/data and development of project deliverables. This role will ensure the regular updating of project management plans and status reports, as well assisting in the timely communication with project stakeholders related to decisions, risks and issues. In addition, this role will support the PMO to ensure project sponsors and project managers are kept up to date on the project lifecycle.

Skills, Experience, Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in providing full range of business analysis services: business analysis planning and monitoring; requirements elicitation – obtain information from stakeholders and confirm the results; requirements life cycle management – manage and maintain requirements and design information from inception to retirement; strategy analysis – identify the most effective approach to reach a desired goals and objectives, including current state, future state, risks; requirements analysis – structure, organize and model requirements identified during elicitation, validate and verify requirements, identify solution options that meet business needs; solution evaluation – assess the value delivered by a solution in use by the enterprise, and recommend removal of barriers that prevent the full realization of the value.
  • Experience with financial management systems, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, trust accounting
  • Experience with case management and workflow-based systems
  • Experience with CRM and ERP platforms is desired
  • Experience with business process analysis and modelling
  • Experience with development and evaluation of requests for proposal (RFP) is desired
  • Experience with quality assurance, test planning and execution
  • Experience with conducting joint application design (JAD) sessions and interviews with stakeholders
  • Proficiency with common office software and specialized software to document the outcomes of business analysis activities (Microsoft Office, Visio, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of business process model and notation (BPMN), decision model and notation (DMN), Unified Modeling Language (UML)
  • Knowledge of enterprise architectural concepts specifically in the area of business architecture
  • Knowledge of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK)
  • Knowledge of related current and emerging I&IT trends, policies and standards
  • Knowledge about change management, service delivery management and project management
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Having Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) is an asset
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

 

Rated Criteria:

Business Analyst Skills

  • Recent 10 years of experience as a business analyst on large complex I&IT projects
  • Extensive experience in the development of requirements: business, stakeholder, solution (functional and non-functional) and transition requirements
  • Experience with developing business analysis artefacts, such as business requirements documents, use cases, data flow diagrams, etc.
  • Experience with business process analysis and modelling
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

Business Application Experience:

  • Experience with financial management systems (including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, trust accounting)
  • Experience with case management and workflow-based systems

Technology Experience:

  • Knowledge of software systems development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Proficiency with common office software and specialized software to document the outcomes of business analysis activities (Microsoft Office, Visio, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of business process model and notation (BPMN), decision model and notation (DMN), Unified Modeling Language (UML)

Soft Skills and Communication:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with conducting joint application design (JAD) sessions and interviews with stakeholders
