SUMMARY
For an anticipated need, we are building a talent pool of Technical Writers.  The successful candidates will provide expertise and hands-on engagement to achieve project objectives, deliver user guides, help and training materials for various end users.  

RESPONSIBILITIES
– Experience in an engineering, IT, or technical environment
– Excellent technical writing skills in U.S. English with 10+ years of experience as a technical writer, demonstrating the ability to create content about complex subjects for end users, business decision makers, and IT professionals
– Experience in the creation of technical project and user documentation, including procedures at the specified experience level
– Knowledge and experience in developing on–line documentation and other tools for the creation, distribution and maintenance of project and user documentation
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills; presentation skills; and interpersonal skills
– Experience with office automation suites, presentation tools, and at least one authoring package
– A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
– A portfolio of writing examples that includes Help, content written for the Web, and user interface text for both desktop and Web-based applications. Additional experience developing diagrams, videos, and other visual content is preferred
– Experience developing content in a complex structured authoring environment
– Ability to think strategically when collaborating with Developers, Testers and Program Managers to develop new or revised features and to document those features in online help content
– Experience analyzing customer feedback and responding to it to improve the customer experience
– Familiarity with online help systems and a continuous publishing schedule
– Proficient using the following tools: Microsoft Office, Product Studio, and SharePoint
– Work closely with the client to create and publish technical standards, process and procedures, and other documentation to support the design, construction, and operation of communications equipment and services.
– Understand and translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation targeting a wide range of audiences
– Ensure that documentation and communications follow established writing rules, company standards, and legal requirements.
– Contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the writing style guide, document templates, and other internal processes and standards
– Perform copy/edit and provide suggestions for improving structure, presentation, and delivery of content
– Create and update technical illustrations, graphics, and job aids as needed
– Provide guidance on technical writing principles to other members of the client's team as needed
– Provide suggestions for continuous improvement of existing department standards and processes
– Manage multiple streams of work and parallel deadlines
– Demonstrate strong work ethic in all areas

SKILLS
Technical Content Creation and Development
– Proven work experience as a Technical Writer, Creator, or similar role
– Demonstrated experience creating content in an engineering, IT or technical environment
– Proven experience creating complex subject content for end users, business decision makers, and IT professionals at a variety of levels
– Knowledge of theory and principles of technical content writing for end-users at specified experience levels
– Experience developing content in a complex structured authoring environment
– A portfolio of writing examples that includes Help, content written for the Web, and user interface text for both desktop and Web-based applications.
– Experience creating technical illustrations, graphics, and job aids
– Ability to partner with internal/external stakeholders and liaise with technical experts and non-technical colleagues, regarding content development and revision
– Demonstrated ability to understand and translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation targeting a wide range of audiences.

Technical Documentation Production
– Proven experience in developing on-line documentation and other tools
– Proven experience in the creation, distribution and maintenance of project and user documentation
– Ability to perform copy/edit and provide suggestions for improving structure, presentation, and delivery of content
– Demonstrated hands-on experience developing on-line documentation and other tools for the creation, distribution and maintenance of project and user documentation
– Demonstrated experience collaborating with Developers, Testers and Program Managers to develop and document features in online help content
– Proven experience in producing diagrams, videos, and other visual content
– Demonstrated experience producing and maintaining writing style guides, document templates, and other internal processes and standards.
– Demonstrated ability to evaluate appropriate documentation tools and methods or activities
– Ability to partner with internal/external stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding technical content creation
– Experience creating and maintaining a database of resources to support end users of different levels of knowledge
– Experience with office automation suites, presentation tools, and at least one authoring package
– Familiarity with online help systems and a continuous publishing schedule
– Proficient using the following tools: Microsoft Office, Product Studio, and SharePoint
– Experience analyzing customer feedback and responding to it to improve the customer experience

Project Management Skills
– Proven excellence in communications and documentation in relation to technical projects
– Experience creating and executing project plans
– Ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders
– Ability to communicate effectively and act as a liaison between stakeholders, clients, project teams and the communications team
– Demonstrated project management experience
– Experience effectively managing and reporting to governance
– Experiencing drafting materials for executive review
