Our client a leader in the Automotive Industry is currently seeking a Quality Engineer for their Oshawa location. The scope is as follows:

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

· Follow the ISO (International Standard Organization) Spill Procedure

· Support Plant Supplier Quality Engineer

· Support supply base initiatives as required

· Minimize disruption to the assembly plant

· Perform work assigned to Problem Resolution Tracking System, GCA (Global Customer Audit), 24hr, Warranty, and JD Power issues as required

· Deliver the zero tolerance policy for spills when appropriate

· Conduct a PCPA (Process Control Plan Audit) when visiting supplier sites

· Provide detailed problem information on spills to management

· Assist in Engineering and supplier issues as required (i.e. engineering work orders and Plant Trial Runs as well as sequencing issues)

· Participate in group staff meetings as required

· Participate/Lead Controlled Shipping meeting as required

· Participate in CPIP (Current Product Improvement Team) meetings as required for assigned issues

· Review containment and root cause on urgent and important issues with supplier as required

· Maintain your business plan and turn in to management monthly

· Complete Quad Report for initiating NBH (New Business Hold) for Spills as required (Quad is a specific report with a fixed format)

Required Skills/Experience:

· Knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Intermediate level

· Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool – Intermediate level

· Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally

· Strong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations

· Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills

· Partners with senior management to analyze and solve issues

· Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently

· Automotive product knowledge

· Position related experience – 6 years

· Relevant auto industry experience required – Entry level (<1 year)

· Past GM work experience required – Entry level (<1 year)

· Areas of expertise include: Project Management, Quality Assurance

Required Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses

· Bachelor of Science in Engineering
