If you want your chance to make a difference in the fight against COVID-19 while making a good income, this is it.

We’re hiring Accessioners for multiple shifts in a Denton lab that is processing huge volumes of Covid-19 tests.

What the heck is an “Accessioner”?

When tests come into the lab someone needs to check the samples: does it have all the correct information, does it pass intake standards, and has it been damaged in any way?

Accessioners are the first people to examine samples and record them in our systems. If it looks good, the sample gets passed on to our lab team for prep and testing. If not, the sample goes to the exceptions team for closer inspection.

We’ll be honest: processing samples can be repetitive work but you’ll develop some important skills along the way—data entry, teamwork, and working with confidential information are all essential for any healthcare or laboratory role.

The Details

This is a full-time, contract opportunity with a variety of shifts available, both days and nights (with night shifts getting a $2 per hour premium).

All shifts are 10 hours, will be on 4 consecutive days, and will be the same from week to week (though you will be able to apply to different shifts after you start).

The best part of this role is the support you’ll receive as a new worker: it’s just one of the reasons we have very low employee turnover. You’ll be trained and supported on day 1, and have access to an excellent support desk service that will take care of your scheduling, pay, and anything else you need.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years’ work experience (data entry, lab or QA/QC experience preferred)
  • Strong computer/typing skills
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to follow health/safety guidelines exactly
  • Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Any additional education in health/science would be an asset
