Our client, one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada, has an immediate need for a Business Analyst. This is a contract position for six (6) months located in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Description 

The Business Analyst in this role will lead various communications initiatives, triage, and gather various requests stemming from BCUC, BOD and external audit/investigation, consolidate and deliver information data and trends. Ideal candidate is a strong problem solver, focuses on process improvement, and strong communication and writing background.

Accountabilities

  • Identify business process efficiencies and opportunities by using advanced analytical and modeling skills focusing on detail and accuracy, to deliver recommendations that align to the business goals.
  • Help managers understand business data and trends, by creating relevant reports and easy to use tools that effectively communicate complex information to support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders through regular reporting and communication using excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, enabling timely progression of projects.
  • Continuously improve the business analysis process by recommending more efficient reports and tools to better translate complex information into an understandable format.
  • Provide advice to acquiring manager by translating business insights into actionable options, to help deliver quality projects safely, on scope, and on time and on budget.

Required 

  • 8 years of business analysis experience or equivalent
  • Experienced with Process improvements 
  • Extensive working knowledge of data analysis programs, an asset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, or related discipline
  • Lean/Six Sigma (process improvement training) would be a nice to have for this role 
  • Strong communication/ writing skillset
  • Demonstrated experience with coordinating a number of queries, consolidating information, and analyzing for a senior-level audience
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken

Additional Information

  • Candidates will need to be located in the lower mainland, as they will be working a hybrid schedule of 2 days in the office and 3 days at home
  • Every contractor must supply their own Windows 10 or 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
  • Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
