CNC Mill Turn Machinist

Ian Martin Group is working with an OEM Component Manufacture that services the Automotive Tooling and Aerospace sectors.  They are passionate and driven to be an industry leader in manufacturing precision machined components including Research and Development.

As our new CNC Mill Turn Machinist, you will enjoy seeing a project from start to finish, like to be hands on and help out where you can; share knowledge with those around you and be a part of a team.

Your tasks will include:

  • Fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts to specification
  • Responsible for setup, troubleshooting and operation of multi-axis CNC mill turn machine centers
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, charts and tables, and tool designs
  • Machine parts to close tolerances (+/-0.0001)
  • Verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using precision measuring instruments
  • Basic understanding of machine preventative maintenance
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports

  • Ideally 5 years of experience in the setup and operation of CNC mill turn (lathe) equipment (DMG-Gamma preferred)
  • Ability to setup complex equipment and jobs preferred
  • Must be able to program at the machine, offline programming experience preferred, however not required
  • Experience using Heidenhain controls or similar
  • Experience in Aluminum and Steel
  • Previous experience in Automotive, Nuclear, Aerospace or Defense is preferred
