Oracle ERP Developer

We are searching for an Intermediate level Oracle ERP Developer for our client, located in Kanata, ON. You will be joining an organization which is involved in the development, manufacturing, packaging and delivery of medical isotopes and radiopharmaceuticals.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position will have the primary responsibility of developing and supporting the existing Oracle E-Business applications and should be skilled in both functional and technical aspects of Oracle ERP R12. The successful candidate will work closely with the Oracle project team and business users to analyze, design, develop test, document, and support business solutions toward meeting business requirements and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field with 5+ years’ experience of Oracle Applications R12 programming and analysis experience on a variety of technical projects (implementation and support).
  • Proven SQL, PL/SQL, and OAF skills to create forms, reports, interfaces, personalizations and workflows, BI Publisher reports.
  • Solid technical understanding of Oracle E-Business Suite data model, schema architecture, and Multi-Org concepts.
  • Oracle Applications development experience, including Reports, Customization, Interfaces, and Extensions.
  • Knowledge of UNIX, shell scripting, and navigation of standard Oracle Application directories. • Experience with Oracle Applications R12 Modules: Order Management, Work in Process, Manufacturing, Inventory and Shipping with working knowledge of General Ledger, Supply Chain Management, Payables and Receivables.
  • Experience working with tools like TOAD/SQL Developer, WinSCP & PuTTY.
  • Big-picture view, with ability to understand the details of business needs, processes, and information flows through the system.
  • Proactively work and resolve Service Requests in collaboration with Oracle Support, as required.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and source code control.
  • Experience working in a high quality, mission critical business such as pharma, life or health sciences; familiarity with GMP or 21 CFR Part 11 is an asset.
  • Oracle R12 upgrade project experience (e.g. report conversion; data conversion) is considered an asset.
  • Business intelligence and reporting experience (Hyperion or similar product) is considered an asset.

Business solutions include: Reporting, Interfaces, Customization, Extensions, and 3rd party applications integrated with Oracle’s E-Business applications. Focus areas are: Order Management, Work in Process, Inventory and Shipping with working knowledge of General Ledger, Supply Chain Management, Payables and Receivables. Qualified applicants should be accustomed to working in a collaborative team environment with other Developers, DBA and Functional Analyst and Business Users.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Programming support of the current Oracle E-Business R12 environment – Oracle Reports, Oracle Forms, BI-Publisher reports, database procedures, triggers and Linux shell scripts.
  • Maintain current suite of custom objects built specifically for BWXT’s product lines.
  • Review and understand business requirements, recommend solutions and provide level of effort estimates to complete customizations or configurations to the application.
  • Scope, design and build custom objects to satisfy business needs that cannot be done within native Oracle.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Design and develop new business applications to support the business operations in various functional areas.
  • Ensure program code is written according to documented software development processes and standards, adhering to strict change management and SQA practices.
  • Develop efficient and effective test plans and protocols for all software development solutions.
  • Perform impact analysis and collaborate with other team members within IT and the business before production changes are made.
  • Prepare and obtain approval for system and programming documentation.
  • Use technical and functional knowledge of Oracle ERP to identify and solve problems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical production issues with standard or custom Oracle E-Business programs, interfaces, reports and assist functional team with diagnostics. conversion; data conversion) is considered an asset.

Project Manager

We are recruiting for a Project Manager (12 Month Contract) for our clients facility in Kanata, Ontario.

JOB SUMMARY

As Project Manager, the successful candidate will:

  • Manage multi-discipline facility design and related projects to be executed primarily out of the Kanata office.
  • Assist in business development activities including presentations to potential clients, preparation of proposals and estimating work (i.e. seller-doer)
  • Be accountable for defined financial performance on projects under their responsibility. This will include but not be limited to establishment and achievement of target gross margin figures, management of primarily lump sum work, and delivery of profit targets as agreed.
  • Become familiar and comply with the clients project management systems, procedures and reporting protocols, and report regularly to senior management on project performance
  • Monitor and manage scope, schedule, budget, deliverables and client expectations during pre-project and execution phases of projects
  • Communicate and coordinate with all project stakeholders as required for successful project execution.
  • Maintain and develop positive client relationships
  • Travel will be required, both within Canada and to locations in domestic USA and possibly overseas. Forecast travel is likely less than 10% but will vary with project and business unit demands. A valid passport will need to be acquired if not already possessed.

As Technical Leader, The Successful Candidate Will

  • Provide technical leadership on projects (preferably in Chemical or Mechanical disciplines)
  • Work with Discipline Leaders and other senior technical staff to provide guidance on technical issues and assist in design efforts. Will also be responsible for discipline resource assignment and coordination with respective Discipline leaders to properly staff and execute the work.
  • Work with other Program Manager and financial and technical staff to coordinate and execute work both within the business unit and support to other projects as required.
  • Assist in monitoring and directing the day-to-day work of project technical staff and meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.

General Management Skills And Responsibilities May Include

Required Experience And Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multidiscipline engineer/ designer/technical projects.
  • The successful candidate will utilize strong interpersonal skills to interface successfully with clients.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing highly technical projects (high containment lab work, complex HVAC and controls and or clean rooms, etc. projects are preferred)
  • Construction administration and design build experience also preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years’ experience in a Technical Management capacity
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen (or capability to obtain, within 6 months)
  • Preferred: Candidate must hold their Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or OAA architect status in Ontario or equivalent. (Registration in Ontario is preferred).
  • Bachelor of Sciences degree or equivalent, from accredited University or Higher Education Institution

Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

We are recruiting for an Engineer (Instrumentation & Controls) for our clients facility in Kanata, Ontario.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working within the Engineering team, you will:
  • Assist in troubleshooting, process optimization and continuous improvements across manufacturing operations in Kanata.
  • Develop, test and install control systems for hot cells and process equipment (controls type).
  • Independently conduct and modify current practices and procedures to reflect business needs.
  • Plan and execute activities to ensure project goals are met.
  • Commissioning of new processes, products, equipment and facilities.
  • Provide technical advice as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (in a discipline having studied Instrumentation & Controls).
  • 5+ years of specifically related experience.
  • Experience with Current Good Manufacturing Practices, including IQ/OQ/PQ, Validation Development, and CAPA resolution.

Oracle EBS Manager

Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Oracle EBS manager for their Kanata, Ontario head office, to oversee the IT functional aspects of our ERP, supporting the business across Canada. 
Reporting to the Senior IT Manager for the Nuclear Power Group, you will be in charge of a team of developers, functional analyst, and DBA.  You will manage the company’s ERP systems in support of the finance, order management, inventory, manufacturing, transportation and human resource functions. The position is intended to be a “working manager” role, involving significant Oracle EBS technical and functional activities in addition to leadership of the support team.
 

The ideal candidate will be very knowledgeable in IT and Oracle systems.  They will have a solid technical background while demonstrating the ability to manage and motivate people.  They will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to resolve issues related to the deployment of mission-critical Oracle ERP software in a highly regulated, process-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Oracle EBS development and operations; evaluate them according to established goals and metrics.
  • Analyze the business requirements and enhancement requests of all departments to determine their ERP technology needs.
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems associated with Oracle EBS, and develop strategic plans for approval by upper management.
  • Serve as lead contact for Oracle ‘super users’ for day-to-day operational accountability and maintain regular collaboration.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the Oracle technical IT staff.
  • Complete technical reviews and approve changes to Oracle EBS architected and developed by the team.
  • Actively coordinate, troubleshoot, and drive resolution of Oracle EBS issues affecting production or the business; determine the technical, interfacing and operational requirements to resolve issues.
  • Act as an SME for Oracle Process Manufacturing practices and structures and how they relate to existing and new business systems.
  • Lead the support and solution-to-build integration for boundary systems (FedEx, SAP, MES, LIMS, ProjectServer, etc.).

Qualifications

The candidate must possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Technically fluent in the standard functionality and customization capabilities of Oracle E-business Suite R12.
  • Able to design, develop, troubleshoot and technically support business-critical Oracle EBS customizations and integrations, as well as provide technical guidance to the support staff.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on enterprise-wide implementations of Oracle ERP systems across multiple sites, broad geographies and multiple lines of business;  especially in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems, or business administration.

We are recruiting for a Chemical Engineer for our clients facility in Kanata, Ontario.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working within the Engineering team, you will:
  • Assist in troubleshooting, process optimization and continuous improvements across manufacturing operations in Kanata.
  • Source, design, document, test, install and commission process equipment for the chemical processing of raw materials into cGMP compliant products.
  • Independently conduct and modify current practices and procedures to reflect business needs.
  • Plan and execute activities to ensure project goals are met.
  • Commissioning of new processes, products, equipment and facilities.
  • Provide technical advice as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical/Industrial).
  • 5+ years of specifically related experience.
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Experience with Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Working knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, facility equipment, PLC’s and related computer systems would be an asset.
