Mechanical Technologist

Our mining client is looking for a Mechanical Technologist based out of Saskatoon.

What you will be doing…

  • Perform mechanical design work using 3D modeling tools to develop 2D drawings on various projects executed within the client.
  • Work with mechanical engineers in support of development of P&IDs, 3D modelling, piping, and general arrangements, HVAC and other mechanical design drawings.
  • Develop BOMs and construction work packages.
  • Travel to project sites based at Norther Saskatchewan and Ontario sites

What you will need to succeed…

  • Mechanical designer with experience in 3D modelling AutoCAD, CADWorx, CAD standards and procedures, Cloudworx and Jetstream 3D modelling.
  • Experience with process piping, pumping, equipment and layout design, HVAC and building services.
  • 1-3 or 4-9 years of experience.

Mechanical Engineer

Our mining client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer based out of Saskatoon.

What you will be doing…

  • Perform mechanical engineering design work on various projects executed within the client.
  • Work with mechanical designers for CAD work in support of development of 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Develop and revise technical specification, work on scope of supply, BOMs and construction work packages.
  • Occasional site visits to Northern Saskatchewan and Ontario.

What you will need to succeed…

  • 4- 9 or 10+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and registered with APEGS as P.Eng.
  • Registration with PEO is considered an asset.
  • Experience with process piping, pumping, equipment and layout design, HVAC and building services.
  • Experience with sizing and selection of HVAC and building services, major process, pumping equipment, and piping design.
  • Experience with design of steam and condensate systems would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

Field Superintendent

Our mining client is looking for a Field Superintendent to ensure contractors within their area are working in a safe manner abiding by all safety program requirements. This role is based at Cigar Lake. The schedule for this role will be 2 weeks in and 2 weeks out, on 11-hour days. Fly in and out will be provided, and room and board will be provided at Cigar Lake.

What you will be doing…

  • Review and in some case development of detailed work plans according to the client’s workface planning processes.
  • Oversight of contractor’s field activities, specifically in the mechanical and piping discipline to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Checking and verifying that the mechanical and piping work is completed per the engineering drawings and quality requirements.
  • Monitoring of the contractor’s schedule and productivity and support resolution of barriers and issues.
  • Daily validation and approval of contractor submitted labour, equipment and material reports.
  • Responsible to coordinate field activities between contractors and the client’s operations team as required.

What you will need to succeed…

  • Previous experience in a brown field construction environment is required.
  • Previous underground mining experience considered an asset.
  • Moderate computer skills required, specifically MS Office.
