UX/UI Designer

Our Govt client based in British Columbia is seeking the services of an experienced User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) Designer to join its Agile development team.

This individual will be required to mentor less experienced members of the team to grow their capabilities, while working within the Scrum Framework, and collaborating with other Agile teams and key business stakeholders. He or she should have demonstrated experience of mentorship and being part of an Agile team.

This position is a 12-month contract based in the Victoria, British Columbia.

We expect an experienced UI/UX Designer with vast of experience in web design. This includes experience with the use of design tools, software, and languages, such as CSS/SASS, JavaScript, Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

What you will need to succeed…

Must Haves

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Senior Level Visual Designer and Design Director for print, web, and digital application properties. Must provide a PDF or URL to your design portfolio with a minimum of 8 examples of past professional work .
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or equivalent is required, design agency experience is an asset.
  • Experience mentoring, providing concise design direction and leading diverse teams including UX designers, production designers and developers.
  • Experience preparing and presenting work to management level stakeholders while meeting all strategic design objectives.
  • Expertise in the use of current design tools and software including Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, and illustrator.
  • Experience designing interactive projects to meet AA web accessibility standards.
  • Experience leading design efforts in a public-sector context and Government of British Columbia websites and web applications in particular.
  • Experience working creatively within the constraints of a mandatory corporate design system.
  • Experience working as a part of an Agile team to incrementally deliver value for the users of a product or digital service.
  • Experience and education in information and user experience design best practices
  • Expertise in typography, visual design layouts, prototyping, icon design required
  • Experience with providing design direction for illustration, animation, photography, and video an asset.

Our public sector client is looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer located in Vancouver, British Columbia. 

Key Deliverables:

  • A PEN-based, IDIM-integrated, common Online Access Module.
  • An online Student PEN Request application.
  • A new PEN Registry system supporting both the legacy system interfaces (during transition) and modern RESTful integrations. Includes the migration of PEN data to the new Registry.
  • Onboarding of partner applications to the Online Access Module.
  • Improved services to and integration with the school-based Student Information System, MyEducation.

What you will need to succeed:

ICS IT Business Analyst

Our public sector client is looking for an experienced ICS IT Business Analyst located in Victoria or Vancouver British Columbia. This is a 12 month contract.

What you will be doing…

  • Assist with development of current solution architecture.
  • Assist with development of solution abstracts.
  • Assist with development of business process architecture.
  • Assist with development of conceptual data models.
  • Develop and/or update business process diagrams.
  • Assist with development of environmental scans and gap analyses.
  • Assist with development of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).
  • Participate in preliminary technical analysis.
  • Develop detailed business requirements and process diagrams.
  • Develop Responsibility Assignment (RACI) models.
  • Conduct stakeholder analysis.
  • Conduct or participate in workshops and requirements gathering sessions.
  • Analysis and documentation of requirements for user interface gap analysis and design.
  • Liaise with the working group to determine requirements and document as required according to the Information Management Branch (IMB) SDLC or Agile deliverables or other methodology as required.

  • Ensure privacy and security deliverables include business specific details.

Must Haves

  • Sound working knowledge of business analysis principles and methodologies (BPM, Agile, SDLC, for example).
  • Ability to lead multi-discipline teams in business transformation initiatives to align business systems with new business processes, using application portfolio management techniques, and have provided and followed a plan to transfer the business from the “as is” structure to the “to be” structure
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering.
  • Knowledge of change management.
  • Identify, define, model and document business needs, including the ability to model and document technical solutions
  • Experience in the development of testing, verification and training documentation & materials.
  • Manage the quality of the delivered business solution to ensure it meets the quality expectations and is in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Experience interacting with stakeholders, vendors, professionals and various levels of employees in a government setting.
  • Promotes innovation to improve project success and performance by doing or promoting new ways of doing things.
  • The Consultant should have experience delivering at least two IM/IT projects within the past eight years that clearly demonstrate experience in all of the below listed skill sets. It is not required that each project demonstrate all of the skills required, but that across the projects provided in the submission, the experience below is met:
    • Three years of experience identifying, defining, modelling and documenting business needs, including modelling and documenting technical solutions.
    • Three years of experience interacting professionally with a wide variety of people in diverse roles (e.g., executives, contractors, technical experts, naive users) to develop and implement automated business processes, and at least one of: service agreements with service consumers and suppliers, appropriate service management processes, training/education materials and application maintenance support.
    • Three years of experience managing the quality of the delivered business solution to ensure it meets quality expectations.
    • Two years of experience leading multi-discipline or single discipline teams in a business initiative to design and align new business systems with business processes.
    • Two years of experience reporting to senior managers.
    • Two years of experience managing effective communications with project stakeholders at all levels from diverse business units.
    • Diploma or degree in a related business or computer science field.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with Industrial Control System (ICS) technologies, including Autonomous Control and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition.
  • Experience with Industrial Cyber Security controls and best practices.
  • Experience leading blended project teams comprised of IM/IT, Engineering, and Field Technician team members.
  • Experience with leading blended project teams through deployment planning and execution activities for all ICS components including software, network, and industrial field device components.
  • Experience leading business areas and technical resources through ICS System Acceptance Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and Live Cut-overs.
  • Experience facilitating and documenting testing and deployment activities.
  • Certifications in the following:
    • International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA)- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
    • Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt).
