Our leading energy client has an immediate need for a Construction / Project Administrator in their Calgary office.  This would be a one (1) year contract position

REASON FOR OPENING/PROJECT:

  • This is a new role required to provide support to 4 Construction Managers in the Retail Construction department on all project administration

TEAM CULTURE:

  • This collaborative team of 5, composed of 1 Manager Construction, 3 Sr Construction Advisors and 1 Staff Construction Engineer.

CANDIDATE VALUE PROPOSITION:

  • This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with previous experience in Construction, a solid background in project administration working with budget estimates; authorizations for expenditures, (AFE) requests; project schedule creation and management; purchase requisition creation; change Order management; and project closeout activities

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The main function of the Construction Technician is to provide to the Retail Construction department on all project administration requirements, including but not limited to:

  • Budget estimates;
  • Preparation and follow up on AFE requests
  • Project tracking, reporting, scheduling and management
  • Project closeout support ensuring payment of suppliers prior to project closeout
  • Accrual management
  • Coordination of project deliverables with other internal stakeholders
  • Project documentation and Operations and Maintenance manuals preparation
  • Management of permit applications and follow up with Municipalities
  • Purchase Requisition creation and management
  • Change Order management; and project closeout activities
  • Handling day to day supplier disputes such as invoicing errors and on-time payment
  • Supporting project tracking and reporting activities
  • Interfacing with project controls on cost, performance, progress assessment, payments, reporting, trends, claims, disputes and change orders
  • Day to day supplier interaction

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergrad degree or diploma in a Technical or Business Discipline Certifications/Tickets
  • 2 – 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Project Management Software experience
  • Proficiency in MS Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • SAP
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Experience with authorizations for Expenditure (AFE) request preparation
  • Experience with Management of permit applications and follow up with Municipalities
  • Experience with Purchase requisition creation
  • Experience with Project schedule management
  • Experience with Accrual management
  • Experience with Project documentation and Operations and Maintenance manuals preparation

NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grad degree in Analytics or Project Management Certifications/Tickets
  • PMP, APEGA Software experience
  • Cross-functional stakeholder management Technologies
  • Analytics, reporting, and KPI management
