Electrical Designer – ANDON

In this role, the Technical Professional will be expected to:

  • Identify, analyze and correct non-routine to complex technical issues by using a variety of standards and/or modified engineering methods and techniques.
  • Provide input in developing new solutions, processes or standards within area of responsibility. 
  • Verify and correct new/updated documentation.
  • Supervise, train and provide technical advice to technical staff.
  • Develop activity plan and coordinate project with the assistance of more experienced engineers.
  • Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Use professional concepts and apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of more complex situations or problems.
  • Identify creative customer beneficial improvements to processes and products, and make the necessary changes once agreed with the immediate superior.
  • Develop more complex units with more complex algorithms and techniques.
  • Participate in code reviews, identify risks, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Document own work, including test reports and functional specifications for small or medium complexity systems.
  • Provide timely and useful information to the project leader to assist with detailed project planning using project management methods and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluency in English and French.

Mechanical Engineer III

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a team responsible for mechanical design.

Requirements

  • College diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a conceptual environment.
  • Experience designing parts and assemblies of machinery, sheet metal and composite components.
  • Excellent team spirit and good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Competence in the management of large assembly, drawing, sheet metal and surface design.
  • Ability to manage priorities in a context of multiple and complex deliveries.
  • Experience with Creo 2 experience is an asset
  • Mastery of Solidworks or Catia

Duties: The Actual Job Tile is Electrical Designer

  • The Electrical Designer is responsible for electrical and electronic system integration and design of ship communications, navigation and scientific systems through the creation of block diagrams, cable drawings, schematics and data packages to support production.
  • Design and draft electrical and electronic systems using CAD tools (experience with Solidwork Electrical, Solidworks Mechanical and AutoCad is desirable);
  • Systems integration experience with COTS communications and network equipment is highly desirable;
  • Cable management and manufacturing experience is desirable;
  • The Electrical Designer is responsible for the electrical design process and defining the electrical drawing workflow, understanding project needs and coordinating resources;
  • Ensure drawings are produced in accordance with applicable drafting codes and standards;
  • Translate engineering sketches and mark-ups into properly documented drawings;
  • Complete electrical block diagrams, schematics, cable assemblies, etc, compliant with task technical requirements;
  • Select and supervise subcontractors for the manufacture of electrical assemblies;
  • When required, issue RFP’s and review responses for compliance to technical requirements;
  • When required, create Technical Product Specifications to describe selected systems;
  • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical/electronic systems;
  • Work with manufacturing partners to introduce designs into production and solve related manufacturing issues;
  • Diagnose problems with existing designs, propose and test design modifications;
  • Assist the Lead Engineer and/or Project Manager during design reviews;
  • Maintain currency of Electrical/Electronic design best practices, methodologies, initiatives;
  • Demonstrated experience using a PLM tool during the design and Change Management process is desired;
  • Familiarity with International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) design standards applicable to marine applications would be an asset;
  • Assist with technical proposals as required;
  • High level oral and written communication skills required for report writing and design justification documentation.

Provide technology support service to end users in all areas of the company within the established service level agreements. Work with various types of software, PC hardware/peripherals and operating system platforms within a highly secure environment. Carry out short-term assignments and research projects under direction of senior staff.

Duties: The Actual Job Tile is Electrical Designer

  • The Electrical Designer is responsible for electrical and electronic system integration and design of ship communications, navigation and scientific systems through the creation of block diagrams, cable drawings, schematics and data packages to support production.
  • Design and draft electrical and electronic systems using CAD tools (experience with Solidwork Electrical, Solidworks Mechanical and AutoCad is desirable);
  • Systems integration experience with COTS communications and network equipment is highly desirable;

  • Hazard Identification (HAZID) and Hazard Operability (HAZOP) Studies.
  • Perform specific software safety reviews:
  • Software requirements analysis;
  • Software architecture design analysis;
  • Software detail design and code analysis; and
  • Review of software integration, module and unit test procedures and test coverage.
  • Ensure that safety requirements are met by reviewing system, hardware and software design.
  • Review the CRs related to product and/or projects and perform initial risk assessment to ensure proper categorization – Safety Review, Safety Risk; Safety Hazard; Pending Hazard, and carry out the safety review and analysis of recommended solution.
  •  Ensure that safety can be verified by testing and that test procedures provide sufficient coverage of safety requirements, including failure and operational scenarios.
  • Accountable for performing the work correctly within cost and schedule limits as defined in approved Work Package
  • Report directly to the Manager RAMS Engineering, take direction from the Project Safety Lead, Group Lead, Senior Safety Specialist, Technical Safety Specialist and Chief Safety Architect, and work closely with other team members, both in Safety team and from other functional teams, to meet project objectives.

Illustrator/Graphic Design

On behalf of our client we are looking for an Illustrator to join their team.  Working on site and as part of a diverse team, he/she will provide illustrations associated with technical training.

Duties Include:

  • Create media elements for technical training manuals, computer-based/web-based training and classroom presentations (story board)
    • Create isometric representations/drawings to be used in training material
    • Sketch complex mechanical assembly drawings to be used in training material
    • Interpret and use standard, mechanical, electrical and electronic symbols
    • Create and modify illustrations using illustration authoring tools such as Adobe CC suite (Illustrator, Animate, Photoshop) and HTML5

  • Have a good knowledge of all pertinent specifications and processes
  • Collaborate to the improvement of the established processes

Skills Required:

  • 5+ years illustrator experience or equivalent
  • Experience developing paper-based, presentation (story board), and computer-based illustrations
  • Demonstrated experience producing media elements in an IT, engineering or technical environment
  • Experience with 3D Via Composer/CATIA (Solid Works or a 3D application will be considered)

Flight Operations Training Developer

We are looking for a Flight/Operations Training Developer on behalf of our Aerospace client in Montreal.  The Training  Developer will work as part of a team to develop and update training materials. The training courseware consists of: lesson plans, manuals, instructor-led presentations, test material, web and computer based training (CBT) and training aids; and devices required to support the organization’s customer requirements. 

Duties Include:

  • Developing lesson plans, training courseware, manuals, test/examination questions and training aids in support of training programs.
  • CBT or Web-based training (WBT).
  • Desktop simulation
  • Assist other departments in responding to the customers’ technical and training questions
  • Implement changes to existing flight and maintenance courseware based upon feedback from: instructors, student critiques, aircraft modifications, customer procedural differences and aircraft options.
