Business group: The GWRT, Cash Trading and Operations Technology group supports and maintains the various trading platforms used within the bank.

Project: The Global Fixed Income Team is looking for an energetic and result-oriented senior Developer to work on development of a new FIX STP adapter using QuickfixJ/Java and integrating it into existing ION platform using vendor API. Candidate needs to be proficient with functional programming with Scala or Java (functional features of Java 8 or above). The successful candidate must have solid hands-on expertise in building complex real-time applications and possess a good understanding of capital markets and products. Experience with FIX protocol will be considered a strong advantage. Candidate will be expected to understand and formulate requirements, and co-ordinate with several business lines and other technology groups.

Typical Day in Role

Independently develop, test, and deploy a new FIX STP adapter to book trades into ION trade management system using Scala or Java, Quckfix/J, and ION Mkv API • Communicate with retail technology team to define requirements, and test against a newly built adapter on their side • Integrate newly built adapter into the existing ION platform on the Capital Markets side • Deliver the assigned project to specs within the projected timelines

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

  • 7 + years enterprise application development using functional programming in Scala (preferred) OR Java
  • Recent project experience with FIX Protocols and Quickfix/ J
  • 2 + years’ experience within Capital Markets processes and products

Our Banking Client in Toronto, ON is looking to hire a Cloud Data Engineer for a six month contract with high possibility of extension.

As a Cloud Data Engineer,  responsible to design and implement the enterprise level data initiatives for the Client. As a Cloud Data Engineer within EDS, your primary job is to engage in a variety of data analysis and development activities that contribute to the design and development of enterprise level data repositories for enablement of AI, Machine Learning and data analytic
 

Job Description:

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge Google Cloud technologies and will have the opportunity to learn while working with intelligent colleagues, well experienced in data management.

Typical Day in Role:

  • Conducting data profiling to understand source data structure and contents including data granularity, data format and data volume.
  • Performing data analysis to drive the target data architecture
  • Creating data curation specifications based the target architecture
  • Development of data transformation/loading pipeline according to the data curation specification
  • Work closely with the Business Analyst, Developers and QAs

Candidate Requirements/Must-Have Skills:

  • Highly proficient in SQL (3+ years of experience)
  • Fundamental knowledge on RDBMS, CLOUD and Big Data technologies
  • Familiarity in data wrangling techniques
  • Strong Python or Java Programming skills
  • Familiarity with Objected Oriented Design and Development methodologies
  • Knowledge of Analytical tools such as R/SAS
  • Knowledge of BI tools such as PowerBI/Tableau, etc.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tool sets such as Bitbucket, Jenkins etc. and to Cloud technologies
  • Familiarity with Agile development
  • Good Communication skills

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience working in data warehouse environment
  • Fi/Banking Industry experience.
