Ian Martin Workforce is working with a company that installs helical piles across Ontario which are used as smart ground screw foundations. They have extensive experience in every area of Construction and Infrastructure – and in high demand.  They are working on growing their team to meet their customers’ needs and are in immediate need of several experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to run a Excavator, Skid Steer and perform manual tasks on multiple sites across Ontario. 

This is an ideal position for someone that is looking to travel around Ontario, work a lot and have the chance to save a ton of what you make.  While your own transportation is required, they will pay kilometers from your home to site, provide accommodations and meal allowances.  If you ever wanted to learn what it is like to work away or love to be on the road, this is the great opportunity for you. Once permanent, you will have the chance to travel into the United States as well.

  • Working independently or in a small group

Ian Martin Workforce is working with a General Contracting company that provides a diverse list of services for both Residential and Commercial Construction. They have a large fleet of Heavy Equipment and Trucks that requires an experienced Manager to take care of.  In this position, you will be the main point of contact between the shop and the field, knowing where your resources are always.  You will be supporting management in coordinating the company’s equipment needs to ensure that they are maximizing their fleet.  

 

What you’ll be doing…

  • Organize float moves and locations of equipment and materials
  • Book annual inspections for Trucks and Equipment
  • Maintain Truck and Equipment Service Logs and Files
  • Track issues and complaints from Lead Driver
  • Update vehicle listings and assign Unit Numbers
  • Organize CVOR Paperwork, Licensing Stickers and Renewals
  • Weekly Mileage reports and hourly logs
  • Review GPS Truck Logs, alert drivers of idling times and locations
  • Maintain Fuel Station including check up on fuel levels, pull logs and input fuel deliveries
  • P.O. Tracking and Material Ordering sheet
  • Maintain Shop Materials and Supply Inventory including monthly spreadsheet of Oil inventory showing oils lubes, sprays and other materials
  • Maintain inventory of Service Truck tools, Shop Tool Room, and Speciality Items
  • Keep accurate tracking of Inventory Lock Up tools and maintain proper sign out procedures
  • Time graph of Shop Activities
  • Responsible for Shop Tidiness and maintaining fire extinguishers and First Aid Kits, and Safety around shop including Safety board with wash station

Your tasks will include:

  • Maintain all illumination devices and lighting systems in the airfield and administrative buildings

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance, emergency repairs and modifications to airport electrical systems such as, Aircraft Support Systems but not limited to, electrical distribution systems including emergency power generation, Building Automated Lighting System, Variable Frequency Drives, Programmable Logic Controls and all other auxiliary equipment with Electrical controls.
  • Installing new electrical services in facilities including sizing conduit and/or cable runs, carrying out installation work and testing the completed job
  • Provide supervision and monitoring of electrical maintenance, repair and project work being performed by outside contractors, and observing the work being done by contractor personnel. Also, ensure that it is being completed in accordance with contract specifications, report to the Electrical Manager and/or the Technical Specialist/Supervisors on the quality of the work performed and recommend its acceptance or rejection
  • Diagnose electrical equipment faults (including electronic components)
  • Check and test fire alarm systems, monitoring systems and implementing necessary repairs

You have the following… 

  • Certification of Qualification – 309A Journeyman Electrician
  • Minimum of 3 years experience at Journeyman level in a Electrical Maintenance position
  • Full G Drivers License with a Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Must have a Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be comfortable working in adverse weather conditions, previous experience preferred

Operations:

  • Completes due diligence on potential development sites including but not limited to the review of planning approval timelines, constraints, opportunities and potential yield
  • Responsible for the administration and management of various construction projects
  • Work closely with stakeholders to coordinate and ensure the schedule, safety and quality control
  • Work alongside the owner, architects and engineers to facilitate design and construction processes
  • Manage estimating, scheduling, quality control, reporting progress, reviewing and coordinating design and safety coordination
