Contracts Specialist

Our Client is one of the world's largest multinational oil and natural gas service companies.

We currently have an available contract assignment for Contract Specialist in Duluth, MN/ Calgary, AB/ Edmonton, AB.                              

The Contract Specialist is responsible for drafting and, where appropriate, reviewing agreements including customer sales contracts, contract amendments, supplier purchase and sale agreements and confidentiality and consultant agreements as well as responding to customer request for proposals (RFPs). Works closely with company sales, service and sourcing teams as well as customers, business managers and attorneys. Position to be located in either Calgary, Duluth or Edmonton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and reviewing/ editing documents such as (but not limited to): customer sales contracts, amendments, NDAs, contract renewals and expansions, and customer reorganizations for legal review.
  • Managing contract clause libraries and contract databases.

Criteria & Qualifications:

  • College degree or Associates degree and 7-10 years relevant experience – Demonstrated experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate using English (and local language)

High-level description:

  • Develop and implement master service agreements that mitigate risk and deliver competitive advantage for Client in support of Category Lead(s)
  • Provide contract administration of master service agreements.

Specific Activities:

Coordinate with Category Lead and business stakeholders to establish master agreements that mitigate risk and deliver competitive advantage:

  • Analyzing scopes of work to determine contracting strategy;
  • Preparing RFx (request for proposal, request for quote, etc.) packages;
  • Coordinating proposal evaluation activities and completing commercial evaluations;
  • Negotiating with suppliers;
  • Preparing and circulating various contract review and approval documents through functional SME;
  • Awarding contracts; and
  • Facilitating and conducting pre-proposal, proposal clarification and contract kick-off meetings with suppliers and key stakeholders.

Coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure realization of the value intended from a master agreement through effective contract administration activities including, but not limited to:

  • Contract interpretation;
  • Contract compliance (including spend and insurance monitoring);
  • Investigation and resolution of systemic contractual issues; and development, negotiation and execution of contract amendments.

Vice President and Sector Lead for Buildings

A world class consulting firm that has been featured on numerous television documentaries involving the worlds tallest skyscrapers and landmark structures is seeking a Sector Lead VP for the buildings group. 

So what does this entail?

This position reports to the President/CEO and is responsible for the development of sales growth strategies across all regions within the Buildings Sector.  You will do this by conducting market research, preparing market strategies and establishing market priorities. You are accountable for setting high technical standards across all practice areas and ensuring that R&D contributions continue within the Buildings Sector.

Business Development & Sales

  • Global marketing strategy
  • Development of strategic customers and Sector growth 
  • Work with Regional VP developing M&A opportunities in their regions.
  • Marketing budget management.
  • Provide intel to regional sales team on potential new business opportunities and facilitate introductions

Project Delivery Accountability:

  • Oversight on all major projects especially ones involve new business development.
  • High level of service delivered across the Sector globally.
  • Project management/sponsorship for key projects especially those that involve new/ key clients.

Technical Oversight

  • Setting a standard across all practice area groups across the Sector.
  • Assessing Sector trends in technology. Works with Regional business to assign Technical teams to strategic development allocating time of technical staff towards R&D across the different Sectors.
  • Developing key technical skills across sector while maintaining a high technical standard, reputation and capability.

People Leadership

  • Technical development of Practice Area Leaders and development of direct reports.
  • Finding specialist talent within the Sector and working with Regional Managers to fit them into their group structure.
  • Setting KPI’s and objectives and managing performance of Sector staff.
  • Accountable for the overall engagement of Global staff.
  • Ensuring all Health and safety regulations are policies are developed, maintained and enhanced within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of the engineering requirements for the specific Sector.
  • Previous experience working as a General Manager or VP for a Business unit or Regional area.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills (e.g. oral, written, and listening).
  • Experience with developing a Business strategy and can demonstrate previous success in implementing the strategy.
  • Developing measurements to set, monitor and achieve Business unit short term and long-term goals.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Holds Professional Engineering designation.
  • Has completed MBA level studies in Business management and/or has previous demonstrated experience developing market strategy for the Sector (P&L management).

BAS Designer

BAS Designer

Our client a climate controls & security global leader in building automation systems is looking to hire a fulltime permanent BAS designer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be responsible for the complete engineering design of automatic temperature control and energy management systems. Also, the designer will produce control schematics, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, schedules, software design and bill of material lists by applying automatic temperature and energy management products in accordance with project specifications. Typical projects include large schools, larger buildings and central plant designs.

Additionally, you will review internal project estimates, contract (mechanical and electrical) plans and coordinate design requirements with field installation team members.

 

Specific responsibilities for this position include:

  • Use company or customer design standards to create project shop drawings per project documentation
  • Attend the Sales to Operations Turnover Meeting and accept full responsibility for the project design documents
  • Selects materials including DDC modules, field sensing and control devices, dampers and valves to meet the project requirements, specifications, codes and customer standards
  • Submit material order forms for all project required materials to the purchasing group, if required
  • Completes each assigned project focusing on customer satisfaction and specification compliance while trying to maintain budgetary guidelines. Identify all projects that do not meet the budget and itemize the budget variances

 

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, etc.
  • Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control preferred
  • Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation preferred 

 

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

BA/BS Engineering degree with 4–7+ years relevant experience

MA/MS Engineering degree with 2–5+ years relevant experience
