Our midstream oil and gas client is looking for an Oracle forms and PL/SQL Developer for an exciting project they are about to launch. The individual will be part of a team based out of Downtown Edmonton

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing support of production applications by troubleshooting issues and developing, testing, and migration of solutions;
  • A strong understanding of the business processes and application functionality relevant to their area as well as an understanding of related applications in adjacent areas;
  • Authoring technical design of functional specifications and progress the solution from design through the software development life-cycle to implementation;
  •  Ensuring adherence to, the IT processes and standards;
  • Showing a keen interest in learning new applications and tools;

  • Developing and maintaining applications for business processes and systems.

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • Ten plus (10+) years of relevant experience required;
  • Experience with Oracle Developer suite of tools including Oracle Forms, Reports, and PL/SQL;
  • Strong understanding of business processes and application functionality; and,
  • Java programming experience is a definite asset.

Health and Safety Data Analyst

Our Oil and Gas Midstream client is looking for a Health and Safety Data Analyst for their office in Downtown Calgary.

  • Working within the scope of occupational safety, this role is the primary point of contact for analytical and performance measurement data and for health & safety reporting. Trends, correlations, and learnings from analytic exercises are developed and delivered to stakeholders through best-in-class reports and presentations comprised of effective and compelling visuals and commentary.
  • This role also supports the Safety & Reliability department in the development and implementation of Health & Safety Programs. 

Data collection, analysis and performance reporting

  • On a reoccurring basis (e.g. monthly/quarterly/yearly) report on safety performance metrics and assess ongoing safety performance results to continually identify improvement opportunities and suggest corrective actions as required to achieve desired safety goals and objectives.
  • Create, maintain and update stakeholder scorecards, dashboards, reports, and presentations with trending and analytical comparisons;creating and integrating data, tables, graphs and interpretive commentary for internal and external use. Communicates information both written and verbal (e.g. presentations) and relays fact and analysis to varied levels of management and non-technical audiences.
  • Collect and manage stakeholder and system safety data (incident data, hours, mileage, etc.) and ensure tracability and auditability. Identify, investigate and resolve quality issues found within data.
  • Analyze incident and hazard management data captured within incident reporting and hazard assessment tools.
  • Interact with Health & Safety Advisors to coach and assist in event and hazard reporting, categorization and risk/severity ranking and to ensure events are appropriately documented, investigations completed and corrective actions tracked.
  • Coordinate program/practice reviews (and updates) and regulatory reviews.
  • Participate in the development of the annual health & safety plan and measurement of the plan.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (e.g. organize and facilitate discussions, working sessions )including field operations and other corporate teams to support corporate performance, integrated management system activities, and the resolution of identified health & safety management issues.

Required:

Mechanical Designer

Every day is different, you work alongside the technical sales team, engineering and manufacturing group to gather relevant details for conceptual design and estimating for the creation of quotes. Seeking a motivated designer who has 1+ year(s) of experience designing complete custom machines. This role requires high precision as they supply machines to the steel, power generation and oil & gas industries. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilize CAD Inventor to build a working concept to satisfy requests from our customer’s base, primarily in the steel industry
  • Design and proposal will include the full costing evaluation of the project and completion of a commercial offer to be submitted to the customer by the Outside Sales Team
  • Utilize knowledge base from the application of our steel equipment product line applied to the shaped rolling and manufacturing process of hot rolled metal forming
  • Complete quotes using data and resources from previous installations, on site trip reports, input from the experienced technical group both inside and Outside Sales Staff and our steel manufacturing customers
  • The successful project will be accepted by our customer and your proposal model will be transferred to our Engineering Team for completion of detail part drawings before manufacturing begins
  • Provide assistance and technical information to support to our Outside Sales Team and Steel customers
  • Monitor successful projects through production and ensure timely communication is provided to the Outside Sales Team
  • Understand and follow the policies and procedures of the Quality Management System and the Health and Safety Management System

  • Support Lead Engineer in discussions with customers. Resolve technical issues and provide input for change requests as needed. Responsible for change management and revision control for the project including communication of customer changes to the appropriate team disciplines and ensure such changes are considered throughout each stage of design, approval and construction.
  • Interact directly with the client and other internal/external stakeholders to manage expectations and deliver projects with highest quality. Interact directly with Client engineering resource support in India for all project execution tasks.

  • Take ownership of the P&ID’s and the integration of the project across electrical engineering. Perform design and develop documents including Single Line Diagrams, IO Lists, Electrical Schematics, Loop diagrams, Logic diagrams, Panel Layout Diagrams, Shutdown Keys, Loop Diagrams, Instrument Indices, Setpoint Lists, DCS and PLC Design, Instrument Location and Installation Design.
  • Develop control system architecture for PLC and HMI systems and select appropriate hardware. Develop panel layouts. Develop the I&C portion of P&ID’s. Attend P&ID review and HAZOP meetings with internal teams and customers.
  • Develop Bill of Material and process through SAP. Interface with suppliers for preliminary costing, instrument component selection, and submittal document review. Interface with customers regarding I&C designs and submitted design documents.
  • Understand and assess project specific area classification requirements and apply correct solution.
  • Support commercial engineers, as well as to other engineers within the team to develop their technical and commercial expertise.
  • Support project execution through review of the control documents, engineering drawings, and manuals for projects. Support plant commissioning and performance testing. Document lesson learned from issues during commissioning and provide feedback to ICE Engineering team and PM.

Requirements:

With an expert level of understanding of system engineering including P&ID development, engineering deliverables and document control, you also need:

  • Experience with the following markets: municipal water and wastewater treatment, EPC projects, oil & gas, chemical, or power.
  • Strong aptitude for planning, organizing, scheduling, assigning and evaluating the work of subordinates coupled with clear, concise communication and presentation skills.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel 20% of the time within US and Canada.

As our new Journeyman Millwright, you will enjoy troubleshooting, find ways to improve continually improve the machines, and able to respond quickly to breakdowns.  You like working with Robotics and have a diverse background that has served you well.

Your tasks will include:

  • Maintaining all production machines in good working condition by performing comprehensive mechanical, basic electrical, and general automation maintenance
  • Install, maintain and repair equipment and machinery using specialized tools
  • Troubleshoot to identify root cause of problems and correct to return to good running condition
  • Train and mentor machine technicians and apprentices
  • Shut down, setup and change out equipment or machines according to procedure on assigned production lines

Designer/Drafter I

Ian Martin has an immediate opening for a Designer/Drafter for a long term assignment in Mebane, North Carolina, USA for one of our global manufacturing customer.

Job Description:

  • Investigate issues on the shop floor, root cause, put corrective actions in place.
  • Work with manufacturing to have prototypes built, evaluate the prototypes.
  • Run small projects for cost out or quality improvements.
  • Coordinate with Plainville test engineer and/or test lab.
  • Coordinate with Mexico designers.
  • Very hands on oriented.
  • Ability and willingness to multitask and change directions quickly.

Skill Set:

  • CREO design and bill of material experience is a plus but not likely a big part of their job.
  • Experience with design, test and analysis tools required to sustain the lighting panel products
  • Sound knowledge UL 50, 50E, 67, and 98.
  • Experience in design, analysis, and test circuit breakers of lighting panels
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with proven relationships and a collaborative approach Demonstrated use of six sigma tools
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Familiarity with ordering logic and SAP
