As our newest Industrial Electrician 442a you will be required to: 

  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance of electrical equipment, repair of electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Work within a team to provide support for the production line to troubleshoot and repair breakdowns.
  • Provide written reports of work required for repairs and upgrades.
  • Participate, collaborate and cooperate with other trades to speed up repair and maintenance.
  • Maintain all electrical wiring and switch gears sub-panels, facility HVAC, lighting, fans, and production equipment such as to ensure operator safety and machine integrity.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine how to proceed.
  • Run tests on electrical components to ensure a safe and effective installation
  • Inspect electrical systems and equipment for any damage, malfunctions, and safety hazards
  • Participate in the implementation of various improvement projects.
  • Repair, install, align, dismantle and move equipment / production lines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications Needed:

  • Licensed Industrial Electrician 442a;
  • Experience related to the job: 2-5 years
  • Knowledge of electrical, automation and controls
  • Basic to moderate understand of PLC’s
  • Experience with Krones machinery is an asset

Supervisors at this facility will  be responsible for managing the second shift. Candidates with a strong background in people leadership and a keen understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement are encouraged to apply:

Daily responsibilities:

  • Very hands on leadership. Being visible on the floor for your team. Jumping in and helping out where needed is a standard within the facility
  • You are a key contributor for the performance management for your team. You will be addressing all issues pertaining to wages, hiring and terminating.
  • Lead assigned staff through coaching, counseling, motivating and disciplining as needed; planning, monitoring and appraising job results
  • You are able to give direction, set expectations and direct activities designed to achieve and maintain high employee morale; fostering intra- and inter-department cooperation.

  • Exchange ideas freely and coordinate with management to review methods and approaches to effective implementation of work instructions
  • Exhibits a commitment to Lean principles and Continuous Improvement practices by ensuring defect-free workmanship, assisting others to meet the Customer’s needs, searching for efficient and effective ways to reduce waste, being active and accountable for Customer satisfaction, and satisfying the Customer’s needs with a sense of urgency.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a lead operations/production position with FDA and/or ISO and/or regulated industry with strong Customer focus. Will accept minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision.
  • Requires computer literacy.  And being proficient or at least strong Excel spreadsheet knowledge as it is critical for this role. 
  • Effective interpersonal skills as demonstrated through prior experience.
  • Above average organizing and analyzing skill and Level 2 math skill (four basic arithmetic functions in all units of measurement, decimals ratios, rates, percentages) to determine organizational, customer and regulatory problems and formulate corrective action plans

They are looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join their team in a permanent, long-term position. This would be a great position for someone that is mechanically inclined and has worked with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. You are able to think quickly on your feet and troubleshoot equipment in order to reduce downtime. 

What you’ll be doing…

  • Troubleshooting, fixing mechanical problems, set up of equipment in an efficient manner.
  • Maintain a variety of mechanical equipment both corrective and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform equipment / system improvements, complete all maintenance record keeping and ensure all related information is available.

You will be…

  • Supporting and maintaining departments Lean and 5S requirements
  • Oversee required inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with Ontario Electrical Standards Act.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components as needed.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Update and log electrical changes.
  • Maintain needed spares and purchase material in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Complete interface to CNC equipment.
  • Coordinate with all plant services and contractors as required.
  • Train and direct electrical employees and ensure they perform to required standards.

  • Licensed 442A or 309A Journeyman Electrician with working knowledge of CNC Equipment
  • Experience with Robotics and Automations is preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a fasted-paced machining environment

Ian Martin Workforce is working with a leading supplier of automotive parts to Tier 1 and OEM companies.  They specialize in high-pressure aluminum die casting and precision machining.  They are looking for an experienced Industrial Millwright to join their team in a permanent, long-term position. This would be a great position for someone that enjoys Troubleshooting, knows how costly downtime can be in Automotive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing high pressure die cast equipment.
  • Moving machinery and aligning machines including testing reassembled equipment and making necessary adjustments and repairs as needed.
  • Carry out the Preventative and Predictive maintenance program and all required documentation.
  • Track and document monthly PM reports and daily work orders in a timely manner, identify equipment breakdown causes and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Safely use hand and power tools; follow safety protocols when installing machinery, supporting equipment and structures on all machinery and equipment.
  • Be an active participant in Safety and Maintenance meetings.

As their new Hydraulics Specialist, you will enjoy building and assembling machinery.  You will highly experienced in Hydraulic and have working knowledge of sizing, competent requirements, fabrication of flex and rigid lines, integration and troubleshooting of full systems.

 

What you will be doing…

  • Taking direction from Manufacturing Supervisor, Manager or Lead Hand
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings to build new and existing equipment
  • Building Scissor Lifts, Screw/Jack Installs and Alignment, Belt and Chain Drive applications, Large equipment layout procedures and large equipment erection.
  • Using large overhead cranes/slinging and forklifts
  • Occasionally interacting with Customers that visit the manufacturing facility and could include answering their questions
  • Ensuring tests and procedures are properly executed, carried out and evaluated.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Performing maintenance and installation on existing and new equipment including of Conveyor Systems, Coating Pans, Ovens, and some Packaging Equipment
  • Responding to and troubleshooting any equipment issues, quickly acting to resolve and repair as to minimize any downtime
  • Maintain accurate documentation of any maintenance that needs to be done and what has been completed to ensure clear cross-shift communication
  • Work in partnership with Management and Production to ensure new equipment installation deadlines are met, maintenance is scheduled correctly, and that malfunctions and downtime are kept to a minimum
  • Maintaining real-time communication with Lead Hand, Plan Supervisor or Manager, and/or Quality Manager on equipment repairs or issues
  • Work with production staff to assist them in becoming familiar with new equipment
  • Participate in training with manufacture reps to learn equipment as required
  • Ensure all Health & Safety protocols are followed when completing assessments and repairs
  • Be an active participate in all Production/Maintenance/Health & Safety meetings

  • Manually packs slabs and use robotics to put boxes onto pallets
  • Clearly communicating with your team on regular basis to ensure that production maintains its quality and speed
