Job Purpose:

The Lean Six Sigma Test Leader provides technical manufacturing support. The position is focused on process simplification, real-time data analytics and defect reduction across multiple product lines & tests, and furthermore must be able to work autonomously.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Reducing product lead time via the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts on the production line
  • Improving product quality & reliability by executing defect reduction projects
  • Reviewing and root causing test defects
  • Work cross-functionally with design engineering, fulfillment, sourcing to meet quality, delivery and cost goals
  • Ensuring Regulatory compliance through Validation & Verification
  • Ensuring EHS compliance and improvement
  • Creative problem solving to design and assemble parts or processes to aid the manufacturing department
  • Operate powered hand tools and saws, basic assembly of connectors/metal piping
  • Technical writing, data analysis, and database management

Quality Specific Goals:

  1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  4. Drive continuous improvement on all related processes, work instructions, and procedures to ensure ongoing standardization and simplification of the Quality Management System.

Qualifications/Requirements

  1. BS in Engineering and 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or High School Diploma / GED and 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  2. Electrical or electronics manufacturing experience
  3. Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills with presentation experience
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  5. Demonstrated ability to combine data analysis and time on the shop floor to solve problems,

Production Supervisor

Nuclear Energy is one of Canada's biggest and busiest industries from manufacturing to power generation. We have an immediate need for an Afternoon Shift Supervisor to support a manufacturing facility that is making components for nuclear companies across Canada and globally. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the afternoon shift team to safely and efficiently meet daily production targets for the shift;
  • Interface with Quality Control to generate dimensional inspections on all work in progress in a timely manner;
  • Direct all maintenance activities required during the shift;

  • Expert understanding of ASME Section III Code and the ISO9001:2008, CSA N285.0 and CAN3-CSA Z299 quality standards.
  • Familiarity with components and tooling for a Candu reactor would be an asset.
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering component drawings including a very strong understanding of metrology and GD&T.

As a Production Supervisor- you will supervise the daily activities of the assembly workforce with company goals and objectives of safety, quality, cost, delivery, and efficiency.

Production Coordinator

  • Maintain and monitor project plans and schedules to ensure customer requirement are met.
  • Advises the Scheduler of pulled-in or pushed-out messages which are not in alignment to the customer sales order and level loaded production plan.

Production Planner

A precision manufacturer of nuclear components is seeking a production planner to join their team. The Production Planner is responsible for expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily, weekly and monthly production schedules. Responsibilities:

  • Review, action and release production work orders (MCS) per schedule
  • Responsible to align and forecast the load and capacity needs.
  • Review, release, action, analyze and maintain the line of balance production schedule for each part number you own, expediting production orders (MCS) per your schedule
  • Monitors the status of assigned work orders with department supervisor to determine progress of work and completion dates.  Alters schedules accordingly to build recovery plans.

  • Maintains routing and bill of material issues to released work orders, flagging engineering through change requests to update the standard router.

  • Update and generate weekly production and efficiency key performance metrics. 
  • Liase with Quality and the customer’s inspectors in advance to ensure verify, witness, and hold points are managed and production flow is not impaired.
  • Lead the inventory weekly, monthly counts and manage the correct batch sizing to reduce safety or obsolete stock.

  • Diploma in Production Management or Inventory Management. (APICS certification preferred)
