Our client in the development of Food Service equipment is looking for a Junior Software Test Engineer to join them for an 18 month contract in their Mississauga office. 

Bringing a knowledge of Engineering and C and Linux programming your role will be to develop, test and maintain the software that is to be implemented in internal and customer product lines.

Major Accountabilities

  • Test Applications from set test plans
  • Conduct unit testing.
  • Resolve issues as they arise from testing

You will possess:

  • An Engineering Degree
  • C/C++ Software Design knowledge and experience (1-2 years)
  • An understanding of good software design and documentation practices
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and defect management tools
  • Excellent code documentation and commenting skills
  • Excellent debug and troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge and practice in software validation practices

What you’ll be doing…

  • Performing Preventative and Scheduled Maintenance
  • Troubleshooting and repairs of industrial equipment like Mechanical Forging Presses, Power and Gravity-drop Hammers, Furnaces, Shears, Saws, Conveyors
  • Working on various PLCs and VFDs
  • Taking care of water systems and change coils
  • Participating in all safety and shift discussions

Job Purpose:

Responsible for electrical design/documentation of control panels using AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities:

  • Create electrical schematics, enclosure designs, and bills of material for panels containing automation equipment such as PLCs, motor drives, mass flow controllers, and other devices used in process control.
  • Execute engineering changes in accordance with established change control procedure

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the design of electrical control panels
  • Associate degree in Electrical or CAD design. Other degrees considered if combined with appropriate experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including good technical communication.
  • Previous project or team experience.

Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client, a leading aerospace company in California is currently looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team.  Working as part of the finance team, they will inputting, tracking vendor invoices into the organization’s system (SAP) and initiating payment.

Additional Duties Include:

  • Prepares and/or tracks invoice deduction notices, debit memos and credit memos. 
  • Answers vendors’ inquiries regarding payment status and issues. Analyzes vendor accounts for troubleshooting; researches and corrects problems
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting and communication of balances and resolving of AP exceptions and/or disputes.
  • Communicate effectively to resolve vendor invoice discrepancies with outside vendors as well as expense report issues with internal department employees.

Skills:   

  • Great attention to detail, good Excel and Word skills, and outstanding data entry skills.
  • 12+ months experience processing AP invoices in a high-volume environment.

You will be:

  • Attend scheduled shifts on a regular basis.
  • Cut, shape and trim blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes.
  • File, grind, shim and adjust different parts to properly fit them together.
  • Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges and tools, using machine tools and / or hand tools.
  • Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
  • Lift position and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables; using hoists or vises.
  • Measure, mark and scribe metal stock to lay out machining; using instruments such as protractors, microscopes, scribes and rulers.
  • Select metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys; based on properties such as hardness and heat tolerance.
  • Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts and finishes.
  • Set up and operate drill presses and tap holes in parts for assembly.
  • Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools; using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, emery cloths, or power grinders.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies or assemblies.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of finish parts for conformance to specifications; using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies; based upon specifications.
  • Design jigs, fixtures, and templates for use as work aids in the fabrication of parts or products
  • Receive quotes and cost comparisons of Suppliers for material.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of material.
  • Work with Production Shift Supervisors to ensure tooling is properly adjusted; and to be able to manufacturer the finished product to the required sped upon specifications.  
  • Possess and/or willing to obtain the required training certificates

Production Supervisor

As a Production Supervisor- you will supervise the daily activities of the assembly workforce (manual and automated) in our manufacturing client.   Location: Mississauga. 

Skills: 

  • College or University Degree
  • Union experience
  • 7+ years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment (manual & automated)
  • Experience in process improvement, quality management, safety management, tracking budget expenses, and production metrics. 
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and contract specifications. 
  • Experience with SAP, QAD… etc.  (other ERP systems)

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing regulatory and organizational standards and procedures, including educating and directing personnel on established policies and procedures.
