Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge in design for low, medium and high voltage electrical systems, electrical design, and components for projects within the mining industry.
  • Working independently as the senior engineer, assist with various aspects of a project in coordination with other engineering disciplines. This may include assisting with material cost and timing estimates, performing design and analysis, and developing specifications, maintenance and operating standards for electrical systems and equipment.
  • Projects will be based at the client’s Northern Saskatchewan and Ontario sites. Individual will be required to occasionally visit these sites.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have ETAP experience and be skilled in ETAP modelling, with a working knowledge of result analysis.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering coupled with 10 or more years of power systems engineering experience.
  • Registered as a P.Eng. with both APEGS and PEO.

Our mining client is looking for a Senior Project Materials Coordinator for their mining operations in Port Hope Ontario.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the shipping, receiving, kitting, preservation, transport of materials, inventory, and distribution of all materials upon arrival at site.
  • Coordinate between contractors and trucking companies to develop an outbound logistics schedule which will meet requirements of all key stakeholders.
  • Coordination at site of materials for contractors and scheduling outbound trucks.
  • Assist the contracts and procurement specialist to identify all material and equipment requirements at the procurement stage.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities for project materials on site with the site warehouse.
  • Confirm project materials storage requirements on site and coordinate set up of storage prior to arrival of project material.
  • Coordinate the flow of project materials and equipment via the material status report and material readiness report.
  • Responsible for the notification to contractors for pick-up of all contractor materials and equipment upon arrival at site.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Hold overall accountability for test strategies, planning, execution, and provisioning of Quality Programs and Systems

As an electrical engineer, you are accountable for all electrical aspects of engineering necessary to deliver custom water treatment systems to industrial or municipal customers.  You will work and collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers and designers from North America and India to ensure on time and on budget execution of the electrical engineering tasks on the project. 

As an electrical engineer, you represent the engineering organization in working with the Lead Engineer (LE) to manage and steer the project toward successful completion throughout all phases of the project including engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning/startup; while complying to company standards, project requirements, and applicable codes. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Support Lead Engineer in discussions with customers. Resolve technical issues and provide input for change requests as needed. Responsible for change management and revision control for the project including communication of customer changes to the appropriate team disciplines and ensure such changes are considered throughout each stage of design, approval and construction.
  • Interact directly with the client and other internal/external stakeholders to manage expectations and deliver projects with highest quality. Interact directly with Client engineering resource support in India for all project execution tasks.
  • Review project specifications and incorporate requirements into Client design and equipment / procurement specifications.
  • Take ownership of the P&ID’s and the integration of the project across electrical engineering. Perform design and develop documents including Single Line Diagrams, IO Lists, Electrical Schematics, Loop diagrams, Logic diagrams, Panel Layout Diagrams, Shutdown Keys, Loop Diagrams, Instrument Indices, Setpoint Lists, DCS and PLC Design, Instrument Location and Installation Design.
  • Develop control system architecture for PLC and HMI systems and select appropriate hardware. Develop panel layouts. Develop the I&C portion of P&ID’s. Attend P&ID review and HAZOP meetings with internal teams and customers.
  • Develop Bill of Material and process through SAP. Interface with suppliers for preliminary costing, instrument component selection, and submittal document review. Interface with customers regarding I&C designs and submitted design documents.
  • Understand and assess project specific area classification requirements and apply correct solution.
  • Support commercial engineers, as well as to other engineers within the team to develop their technical and commercial expertise.
  • Support project execution through review of the control documents, engineering drawings, and manuals for projects. Support plant commissioning and performance testing. Document lesson learned from issues during commissioning and provide feedback to ICE Engineering team and PM.

Requirements:

With an expert level of understanding of system engineering including P&ID development, engineering deliverables and document control, you also need:

  • Experience with the following markets: municipal water and wastewater treatment, EPC projects, oil & gas, chemical, or power.
  • Strong aptitude for planning, organizing, scheduling, assigning and evaluating the work of subordinates coupled with clear, concise communication and presentation skills.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel 20% of the time within US and Canada.
  • Comfortable working in a multiple disciplinary team environment across different offices/geographical regions.
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, PE (P. Eng. In Canada) registered or working towards qualification.
