Our Utility Client in North York, ON is looking to hire a Pipeline Engineer for 12+ months of contract role with possibility of extension

As a Pipeline Engineer, candidate is responsible to determine and implement new and existing Company policies, practices and procedures which may affect the planning, design, construction, and, maintenance areas of the Company

Job Responsibilities:  

Duties:

  • Determine and implement new and existing Company policies, practices and procedures which may affect the planning, design, construction, and, maintenance areas of the Company
  • Approve and certify design and operations procedures with an engineering stamp confirming that the design or procedure under review conforms to Government laws and regulations, Company policies and procedures, accepted engineering practice, and up holds public safety.
  • Manage the completion of projects using engineering and project management principles. Responsible for all project management aspects from inception to completion. Projects are typically cross-functional and often require forming and leading cross-departmental teams
  • Prepare reports, Technical Assessments, Material Specifications, or updates of Company manuals (e.g. Construction and Maintenance Manual, Planning, Design and Records Manual)
  • Manage the evaluation approval process and implementation of new products, tools, and equipment, or technologies that are applicable to the Natural Gas distribution system. Typically, these require long term, large scale, complex projects based on business plans, which have a wide impact on operations
  • Provide Engineering On-Call duties including and not limited to drawing reviews, compression coupling investigations and responding to requests from field staff
  • Complete engineering analysis on our distribution pipeline system that may require an understanding of operating practices, cost analysis, safety, stress analysis, fluid mechanics, metallurgy, plastic fusion, welding, or corrosion
  • Provide technical consultation to corporate, regional departments, and junior engineering staff on complex engineering matters of policy, procedure, or practice. This requires detailed knowledge of codes and standards, regulations, materials, company policies and procedures and practices
  • Provide project management support for significant pipeline construction projects. Project aspects to be considered include the planning, design, approval and procurement of materials, tendering, constructing, testing and commissioning of the pipelines or related facilities

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Graduates of recognized Engineering programs in a discipline of Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years industry experience
  • Proven experience and understanding of pipeline design, pipelines systems codes and standards, construction practices, field operations, service procedures
  • Previous project management experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and EIT’s through flexibility, building relationships, and demonstrated leadership

As our new Body Technician, you will enjoy performing high quality body repairs on transit buses and highway coaches by overhauling and fully repairing bus bodies.  

You will be…

  • Repairing buses by removing, attaching, and aligning various body parts
  • Repairing dents, fill and seal depressions
  • Repair bodies with standard body repair techniques

Calcium Driver

Calcium Driver (Class 1)

  • Edmonton, Alberta (Nisku Terminal)
  • Several Rotations Available
  • $30 per hour, OT after 50 hours per Week
  • Company Driver with Dedicated Sleeper Cab
  • Liquid Bulk and B-train experience required
  • Federal Hours of Service (70 hours or 7 days with 36 hour reset)

Ian Martin Workforce is working with a leading chemical transportation fleet that moves Calcium Chloride across Western Canada.  They are dedicated to their customers and provide reliable, safety-focused services that comes with a proven track record of success. Busy season is May to September, and they keep their drivers going all year around.  You will be expected to safely operate a tractor and b-train tank trailers, including loading/unloading at customers’ sites and field storage locations throughout Western Canada while adhering to all procedures necessary to transport calcium safely.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Safe operation of tractor and b-train trailer configuration on various road conditions throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba including utilization of tire chains when required.
  • Transport, load and unload calcium in safe and professional manner while following company and site-specific procedures.
  • Perform thorough daily provincial HOS logs and vehicle inspections as per regulations.
  • Accurately complete and submit all company and customer required documents within the required timelines.
  • Report any hazards, infractions, breach of protocols or maintenance issues and submit to Dispatch.
  • Actively participate in tailgate meetings and attend all required safety meetings.
  • Assist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations
  • Always represent yourself and the company as an example that others should follow.

  • Class 1 or AZ Driver with Clean Drivers’ Abstracts
  • Experience hauling liquid bulk required
  • 3 years of driving B-train configurations an asset

  • Competent knowledge of NSC regulations including Hours of Service, Vehicle Inspections and Load Securement.
  • Ability to demonstrate how to properly install and take off tire chains.
  • Ability to successfully complete a mask fit test and willingness to work under supplied air if required.
  • Familiar with VHF Two – way radio communication
  • Basic knowledge of mobile technology, able to send and receive text messages, email and documents as required.
