As our new Trailer Mechanic, you will enjoy troubleshooting and inspecting buses and highway coach buses to detect faults, malfunctions and irregularities.  You have the skill and experience to perform quality mechanical and some electrical repairs on buses and highway coaches.

Your tasks will include:

  • Determine the extent of repairs required
  • Adjust equipment and repair and/or replace defective parts
  • Test and repair equipment for proper performance
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform complete overhauls on braking systems, engine and transmission systems, and suspension systems

As our new GMAW Welder, you will enjoy working in a busy fabrication shop making large custom bodies for trucks using thin gauge (16 to 10) sheet metal of Aluminum and Steel.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using MIG welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner to ensure meeting customer’s requirements

  • Determine extent of repair and supplies required for burnt out coaches with electrical damage as well as other collision damage 
  • Work with other departments to complete the repairs and get the vehicle prepared to return to the customer
  • Mentor and direct employees that are assisting with the repairs
  • Comfortable working in small spaces, and sometimes at the same time with lots of people
  • During downtime, performing maintenance on shop equipment

 

 

Qualifications
