Job Purpose:

Analytical Laboratory Technician will be responsible for providing diverse, day-to-day laboratory support duties for Marlborough, MA site. Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing specific procedures and tests to produce reliable and precise data using various lab related equipment. The Analytical Laboratory Technician will prepare samples for analysis, operate laboratory instruments, and maintain written and electronic documentation. This position will manage workload prioritization, ensure timelines are met, results and analyses are clear, accurate, well documented and appropriately reported.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides laboratory support to R&D
  • Prepares sample for analysis using variety of chemical and biochemical methods
  • Prepares reagents to be used in analysis as per written SOPs or manager’s instructions
  • Prepares and maintains stock solutions
  • Independently operates F/HPLC instruments
  • Analyzes samples, reports results, and documents methods

Required Qualifications:

  • An Associate degree in technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. A B.S. in Chemistry or related technical field preferred.
  • Needed: 2+ years lab work experience (after graduation) in analytical laboratory (research or QC)
  • Needed: Chromatography experience
  • Nice to have: Microscopy: Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and/or Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM).
  • Minimum 2 years’ work experience in an analytical laboratory or R&D environment
  • Basic knowledge of analytical test equipment, hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of physical principles, laws and their interrelationships.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Office software
  • Problem Sensitivity: The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
  • A can-do attitude

Desired Qualifications:

  • A B.S. in Chemistry or related technical field preferred.
  • Familiarity with Empower and/or Unicorn software.
  • Microscopy (AFM and SEM) experience.
  • Experience handling/preparing protein samples for analysis
