In this role you will support site implementations of the client’s Competency Assurance Program in compliance with the client’s Operational Integrity Management System and Training and Competency requirements. What you will do…

  • Support all phases of the project working closely with Operations and the HR team.
  • Collaborate directly with the site Operations to ensure effective rollout of program and alignment of project activities, using the implementation processes, guides and tool kit.

    • Conducting a full training program gap analysis

Training Analyst

Our client, one of Canada’s largest integrated oil companies has an immediate need for a Training Analyst to join their Exploration and Production team for a twelve (12) month contract assignment.  This would be based out of their Head Office location in downtown Calgary.

The Training Analyst provides business process and related technologies training and training support for stakeholders. This role collaborates with Business Leads, Business Process Analysts and Super Users to facilitate client skill training requirements.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Assess the training requirements of internal customers and assist the business to identify and deliver training sessions; evaluate learning effectiveness and implement changes as required
  • Design and maintain a training program that aligns E&PS department's training in accordance with HOIMS Training and Competence Element requirements
  • Steward the creation and sustainment of training materials and processes that support training for E&PS departments and applications

Intermediate Contract Analyst

Our Calgary based client has an immediate need for an Intermediate Contract Analyst to help them with enterprise IT solutions contracting and subsequent subscription-based renewals.  This is a six (6) month contract opportunity.  

Core Responsibilities:

·         Lead the contract formation and/or contract administration process for various direct and indirect material purchases;

Senior Learning & Development Lead

Our client, one of Canada’s largest integrated oil companies has an immediate need for a Senior Learning & Development Lead to join their Commodity and Risk Management Team for an eight (8) month contract assignment.  This would be based out of their Head Office location in downtown Calgary.

Our Calgary Energy Client has a contract role on our Downstream Commodity Risk Trading Management (CTRM) project (Symmetry). The goal of this project is to enhance their commodity trading and risk management capabilities within the Downstream business by implementing and integrating an industry leading CTRM application. This project will replace six major software applications and integrate with over a dozen other applications impacting in excess of 150 users in Canadian and US offices. The change impacts business processes, technology and organization/culture.

We are looking for an individual with proven training lead experience in learning & development, developing blended learning solutions to join our Change Management Team. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience with major technology implementation initiatives; experience with Allegro Horizon or other Commodity Trading and Risk Management software implementations is preferred.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a broader team that includes Senior Change Management Advisors, Project Business Analysts, and Subject Matter Experts from the business.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with Senior OCM Advisors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support the development and delivery of implementation-related training for the Project to ensure an integrated approach, including:
  • Conduct learning needs assessments (LNA) to determine learning requirements.
  • Determine the appropriate training material format based on LNA, Change Impact Assessment and discussions with business and project team.
  • Determine and confirm role-based learning curriculum and course outlines.
  • Facilitate meetings with SME and project team members to obtain content in an organized and efficient manner.

Reporting to the Manager – Exploration, Drilling and Completions, the incumbent in this position will develop and execute innovative, strategic sourcing strategies and contracts across the organization, primarily in support of Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO) programs. How you will bring value

Reporting to the Manager, Category Management, Information Services, in this position you will develop and execute innovative, strategic sourcing strategies and contracts across the organization, primarily for the Hardware and Telcom portfolio. This portfolio includes but is not limited to the categories of Hardware Equipment and Maintenance, Telecom Equipment, Services and Network.

Our client, one of Canada’s largest integrated oil companies has an immediate need for a Senior Claims Specialist to join their Capital Projects Procurement Team for a one year contract assignment.  This would be based out of their Head Office location in downtown Calgary.

Our oil and gas midstream client is looking for a Sr. Cost Control Engineer for supporting the development of a multi-billion dollar project portfolio.  This involves the use of cost engineering best practices and processes critical for estimating of Major Projects.

Accountabilities:

  • Prepare all facets of an estimate including contingencies, escalations, cash flows and benchmarks to support Project Development efforts.

    • Manage changes to the program in a disciplined manner and ensure all appropriate work and financial processes are followed.

    • Safety Critical Task: evaluate the condition of the asset and implement appropriate actions to maintain safety.

    • Provide technical input to Technical Standard Deviation and Change Requests to ensure proposed deviations to company standards do not have a negative impact on the integrity of assets.

Pipeline Hydraulic Design Engineer

Our Oil and Gas Midstream client is looking for a Pipeline Hydraulic Design Engineer with previous pipeline and terminal hydraulic design experience for their office in Downtown Edmonton.

The individual will complete and/or oversee the pipeline and facility hydraulic design throughout the planning, design, procurement, construction and start-up stages of the project lifecycle.   • Initiate meetings, correspondence and discussion with appropriate project resources when project scope / schedule / cost requires clarification.
  • Investigate and ensure that accurate project data is acquired prior to the analysis and design of the proposed facility.
  • Identify project scenarios that require transient modeling to ensure proposed pipeline designs are operable under transient conditions.  Lead the execution of transient modeling activities.

Our Oil and Gas Midstream client is looking for a Health and Safety Data Analyst for their office in Downtown Calgary.

  • Working within the scope of occupational safety, this role is the primary point of contact for analytical and performance measurement data and for health & safety reporting. Trends, correlations, and learnings from analytic exercises are developed and delivered to stakeholders through best-in-class reports and presentations comprised of effective and compelling visuals and commentary.

Data collection, analysis and performance reporting

  • On a reoccurring basis (e.g. monthly/quarterly/yearly) report on safety performance metrics and assess ongoing safety performance results to continually identify improvement opportunities and suggest corrective actions as required to achieve desired safety goals and objectives.
  • Create, maintain and update stakeholder scorecards, dashboards, reports, and presentations with trending and analytical comparisons;creating and integrating data, tables, graphs and interpretive commentary for internal and external use. Communicates information both written and verbal (e.g. presentations) and relays fact and analysis to varied levels of management and non-technical audiences.
  • Collect and manage stakeholder and system safety data (incident data, hours, mileage, etc.) and ensure tracability and auditability. Identify, investigate and resolve quality issues found within data.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Produce enterprise-wide Asset Investment Planning and Management training materials, combining both enterprise-wide business process concepts and system transactions 
• Dotted line reporting to the Asset Management (AM) Program Training Advisor 
• Work closely with various SMEs across Business Units to develop course content based on approved course outlines 
• Identify data requirements and build datasets to support the software (C55) transaction demos, walkthroughs, and exercises in the classroom 
• Adhere to training development standards and use provided templates to produce course deliverables 
• Leverage process documentation, system documentation, and other relevant documentation— including UAT test scripts— to develop content

Drafting Technologist/Piping Designer

Our market leading energy client has an immediate need for a Drafting Technologist Piping Designer to join their team. This contract position is based out of Edmonton.

The primary focus of this role is to support the client’s Liquid Pipelines (LP) SCADA Replacement Program and stakeholders with regards to engineering drawing standards, equipment identification standards and drafting services. Additionally, this role is accountable to tailor existing drawings to meet the specific needs for a SCADA System Human Machine Interface.

At a high level, you are developing displays for facilities in this role. The displays have piping’s, valves, and other related equipment remotely controlled in piping facilities. Your job will be to take process flow diagrams and clean them up to develop the displays, while optimizing the process flow diagrams. You will have to directly translate from the process diagrams to what is being displayed in the control systems. Additionally, you will help move towards connectivity and 3D models.

Microsoft Exchange Consultant

Our client who is a leader in the North American Energy market has an immediate need for a Microsoft Exchange Consultant to strengthen the existing technical team’s ability to successfully deliver a new fully supported Exchange environment with minimal disruption to the business owners. This is a 10 month contract based in Calgary.

The Project

The existing Exchange environment currently uses Exchange 2010, which is scheduled to go “end of life” with no further support from Microsoft in 2020. In addition, the Exchange services are hosted on servers which are running Windows Server 2008 operating system, which will also go “end of life” in 2020 again with no further support available from Microsoft. To resolve this, and reduce potential risk to the Exchange environment, the decision was made to migrate from an on-premises environment to Office 365, thus solving the following:

  • Provide an alternate solution to the current on-prem exchange environment which will go end of life in 2020. 
  • Address the lack of further support from Microsoft Exchange 2010.
  • Address the lack of further support for the Windows server 2008 operating system.
  • Provide a platform to upgrade the current exchange environment, which would provide automatic updates/patches in the Microsoft hosted cloud environment.  
  • Reduce the client’s Data Center footprint and associated support cost by migrating workload to the cloud. (This will be realized once all mailboxes are moved to the cloud).
  • Address the existing ISB Disaster Recovery gap for Exchange platform.

Project Deliverables:    

  • Move the existing Exchange environment to the cloud, whilst maintaining the business needs of the client.
  • Migrate the client’s mailboxes to Cloud Environment. Estimated number is approximately 4,200.
  • Provide an alternate solution to the current Exchange environment which goes end of life in 2020.
  • Provide an alternate solution to the current Windows Server 2008 operating system which goes end of life in 2020.

Key Deliverables:

  1. Completion of solution design.
  2. Completion of migration of pilot users.
  3. Update to migration process post pilot (if required).
  4. Completion of migration phase.
  5. Acceptance of new Exchange environment.

Integrity and Reliability Engineer EIT/Junior Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Engineer or EIT with 1-3 years of experience in pipeline integrity and reliability engineering for our Midstream client in their office in Downtown, Edmonton.

Duties:

  • Perform reliability analysis for pipeline assets using existing tools (ERA, Python, MatLab, @Risk). This includes hands-on application of existing reliability models (e.g. Monte Carlo simulations, Bayesian Network, Fault Tree, Decision Tree) for integrity and non-integrity threats.
  • Perform more detailed investigations for lines/segments/features do not meet integrity reliability targets following existing processes.
  • Address stakeholders’ requests including problem definition, data collection, application of standard assessment techniques, and communication of results. Support more senior team members for complex requests that exceed standard processes.
  • Participate in the documentation and effective communication of methodology, results, limitations, etc. to internal and external stakeholders for standard assessments.
  • Provide guidance to more junior staff members or external consultants to support project tasks.
  • Support continuous improvement of different assessment tools and techniques through:
    • Researching relevant literature;
    • Collecting relevant data for feasibility analysis and system-wide analysis; propose improvement ideas for better data accuracy and data quality;
    • Assisting with the automation and improvement of existing models.
  • Support the development and maintenance of processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Support the generation of industry publications and technical reports. Respond to ad-hoc requests from PI Reliability team members to support department objectives.

Qualifications:

  • EIT Designation and eligibility for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation from APEGA (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in civil/mechanical/industrial engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized university or college.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Advanced data analytics;
    • Pipeline integrity related projects and programs;e
    • Reliability analysis including statistical analysis, results interpretation, system modelling, etc.; and/or
    • Research-related projects requiring review of industry literature, interpretation of a variety data types, and generation of conclusions and recommendations based on findings.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Some knowledge of statistical tools (such as @RISK or MATLAB) and large databases (e.g PowerPivot or Power Query, Power PI).
