Ian Martin Workforce is working with a Plastic Extrusion Manufacture that specializes in precision engineered custom plastic extruded profiles.  They primarily focus is custom products and regularly pushing the limits of what they can do.

As our new Tool & Die Maker you will become a valued member of our growing team.  You will be working alongside highly experienced team members that will show you the ropes. As you learn, you will work more and more independently.  You are eager to learn more and share your knowledge with those around you.  You’re a creative problem solver, look for ways to continually approve how things are done.  Your main responsibility will be to manufacture dies and tooling for production. 

You will be:

  • Attend scheduled shifts on a regular basis.
  • Cut, shape and trim blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes.
  • File, grind, shim and adjust different parts to properly fit them together.
  • Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges and tools, using machine tools and / or hand tools.
  • Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
  • Lift position and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables; using hoists or vises.
  • Measure, mark and scribe metal stock to lay out machining; using instruments such as protractors, microscopes, scribes and rulers.
  • Select metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys; based on properties such as hardness and heat tolerance.
  • Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts and finishes.
  • Set up and operate drill presses and tap holes in parts for assembly.
  • Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools; using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, emery cloths, or power grinders.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies or assemblies.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of finish parts for conformance to specifications; using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies; based upon specifications.
  • Design jigs, fixtures, and templates for use as work aids in the fabrication of parts or products
  • Receive quotes and cost comparisons of Suppliers for material.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of material.
  • Work with Production Shift Supervisors to ensure tooling is properly adjusted; and to be able to manufacturer the finished product to the required sped upon specifications.  
  • Possess and/or willing to obtain the required training certificates

As our new Setup Operator, you will be working alongside our existing team. You are eager to learn more and share your knowledge with those around you.  You’re a creative problem solver, look for ways to continually approve how things are done.  Your main responsibility will be to perform manual labour along the Production Line; operates and troubleshoots Production Line Machinery.

 

You will be:

 

  • Attend scheduled shifts on regular basis.
  • Making sure that you are wear all required PPE and have the tools required for operation
  • Operate the Production Line machinery.
  • Ensure extruder hopper has sufficient amount of material at all times.
  • Assemble boxes for the packaging of product.
  • Package finished product in compliance to Customer’s requirements (labels, spooling and correct amount pieces of product per box).
  • Grind any scrap material in the proper grinder.
  • Troubleshoot Production Line machinery; when required.
  • Perform equipment change-overs.
  • Assist in the responsibility for Quality Control; make adjustments as necessary to produce product within specifications.  Reject product outside of required specifications.
  • Train and coach Production Line Employees.
  • Assist in production start-ups; shut-downs; trouble shooting; changeovers; and die tests.
  • Attend all required staff meetings.
  • Operate within Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Communicate with Shift Supervisors if there are any questions or concerns.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete all required shift paper work.

 

 

You are:

 

  • Experience in Plastic Extrusion, preferable in Profile Plastic Extrusion
  • Willing and eager to learn and improve upon skills
  • Strong at troubleshooting and creative thinking
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Able to take ownership and work independently
  • Comply with Health & Safety and maintain a safe work environment

As our new Maintenance Millwright, you are self-motivated to maintain and improve condition of the equipment around you.  You are comfortable working independently and share your knowledge with those around you to help improve everyone’s ability to work smarter including the people on the front lines.  You take the time to ensure that the needs of Production are met and able to think outside of the box when a line goes down.

 

You will be:

 

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot Plastic Extrusion equipment, robotics and other mechanical equipment using hand and power tools
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls (PLCs)
  • Participates in projects, such as installations, start-ups, and shutdown, and emergency maintenance requests as required          
  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Modify, repair or replace parts of machinery to maintain production capacity.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and continuous improvement in order to improve reliability of production lines.             
  • Inspects, lubricates, measures, replaces parts in accordance with the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain effective verbal and non-verbal communication within maintenance team and other departments
  • Maintain a safe, clean work area and follows all safety procedures and other standards
  • Document activities and generates data such as log books, work orders, hazard report, incident report and emails.

 

 

You are:

 

  • Certification of Qualification Journeyman Millwright (433A) required
  • 3 to 5 years of Industrial Maintenance experience
  • Versatile while still eager to learn new skills
  • Excellent at troubleshooting and creative thinking
  • Strong understanding of computerized machinery and PLCs
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Able to take ownership and work independently
  • Comply with Health & Safety and maintain a safe work environment

Our client in the Manufacturing/Retail Industry is in need for a full-time permanent Application Developer to work on multiple projects and produce great ideas in Barrie Ontario.

Outstanding communication skills are necessary to maintain frequent liaison with other business units. Candidates must have a minimum 3-5+ years previous experience working in the .Net Framework.
