  • Be open to receive coaching and mentoring from peer and senior staff members as well as provide coaching to junior members as required.

Must Haves:

  • Related post-secondary degree or technical diploma with 10+ years related work experience.
  • Completed an industry-recognized Business Analyst Certificate.
  • Working knowledge of Upstream business, processes and well life cycle management systems (Peloton suit).
  • Experience in the Peloton Suite of products, especially SiteView.
  • Change Management experience is required.
  • Experience with oil and gas operational systems, well management systems, and standard reporting systems in a support or super user role

Nice to Haves:

  • Broad knowledge of Exploration & Production Services would be an asset.

High-Level Description

Online Requisition Management

  • Assessing, supporting and optimizing the purchase requisition process, e.g., ensuring compliance with Canadian and American processes and standards, coaching SCC Buyers in the use of SAP and ORACLE tools

Transaction Data Management

  • Analyze P2P transaction data to establish and report on KPI’s
  • Conducting research and analysis with line clients and SCC Buyers to determine their needs, and translate those needs into standards, e.g., create part numbers, and map those to inventory

P2P Process Improvement

  • Develop tools and templates such as job aids, Buying Guide, Quick Reference guides to improve transaction efficiency

Background:

This position is expected to be familiar with U.S. Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, Canadian derivatives regulations, Canadian and U.S. competition and anti-trust laws, and with industry trade compliance practices.

As part of Western Canada Production (WCP), the Operational Integrity group is responsible for driving safety & operational integrity.

This position drives the development, implementation and sustainment of the Risk Based Integrity Management (RBIM) Program for pressure equipment, piping, storage tanks for Western Canada Production Operations. This includes providing technical support and coordination with field based district staff and the Corporate RBIM team.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive implementation and sustainment of the RBIM Program to prioritize maintenance and inspection activities that meets or exceeds provincial and federal regulatory requirements
  • Work with area integrity inspectors to coordinate corrosion monitoring activities, evaluate results and determine actions.
  • Lead efforts to update the program with changes due to repair, alterations & project work including: updating production loss consequence, review changes to process conditions, monitoring integrity operating window excursions.
  • Support other program initiatives and strategy development, including update/manage dead-leg registers, participation in HAZOPs, LOPAs, and Incident Investigations to determine RBIM impact and support Turnaround Planning (using RBIM Program Tools).
  • Conduct/support gap assessments, close gaps and report the annual gap assessments to site management.
  • Track and report KPIs, work with site to manage documentation updates, drive team collaboration, continuous improvement and risk-based training for the team (maintain and deliver).

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
  • Professional Engineer, registered or eligible for registration with APEGA

Position Summary:

Your role is to provide meaningful, credible, and timely accounting research and technical accounting analysis of business transactions to support the accounting, within the financial statements. Position Summary:

The Technical Analyst will work with closely with the Engineering Technical Records and Information Management team. Our client is one of Canada’s market leading integrated oil companies with over 500 retail locations coast to coast.  They are looking for a Trainer to join their team for a (6) six month contract to help them through a massive rebranding exercise.

REASON FOR OPENING/PROJECT:

To provide for additional resources for re-branding project to ensure the right training complement is in place to meet the timeline for the conversion.

CANDIDATE VALUE PROPOSITION:

Works collaboratively with Operations, Marketing and other departments to develop and deliver training for: gas and convenience retailers, customer service representatives, and retail operations staff, utilizing web-based, remote, on-site, and classroom training. This will include Corporate Retailers, Travel Centre retailers, and Branded Dealers. This position will require the successful candidate to travel approximately 25 – 50 % of the time.

  • Develop and deliver training programs that support the execution of the retail/commercial operating, marketing and customer service standards.

Senior Finance Analyst

Our market leading energy client has an immediate need for a Senior Finance Analyst to join their team as a subject matter expert for the financial systems and processes on a major business unit. This is a 9 month contract position located in their Calgary head office location.

Primary Focus

The role will develop and utilize an expert level of knowledge of the Oracle Enterprise Financial System (Project Accounting and General Ledger modules), Hyperion, and the processes that feed them. That knowledge along with superior communication skills and effective rapport with project teams will enable the individual to be viewed as the Business Unit’s financial system master.  Areas of focus will be on reporting, budgeting, and forecasting the results of Major Projects support departments as well as managing the financial structures employed by MP. 
 
Specific Accountabilities

  • For all MP projects, lead the bi- monthly cash flow forecast process and communicate results to financial stakeholders. This includes analysis of variances, development of scorecard results and preparation of presentations for senior management and stakeholder groups. This also involves maintaining strong relationships with all parties and training of forecast preparers. 
  • Independently budget, forecast and report the financial activities related to Major Project’s support groups and monitor labor rates to ensure that all appropriate costs are recovered. This also includes ensuring that costs allocated to MP are appropriate.
  • Run & distribute monthly cost reports for CORE Sr. managers. Co-ordinate & facilitate quarterly meetings with CORE Sr. managers ensuring all Sr. managers and Directors have a good understanding of related costs.
  • Proactively collaborate with Edmonton, Calgary and Houston Finance departments and MP project teams as required to meet Major Project’s reporting obligations.
  • When required, assist in development of Board of Directors and public disclosures at quarter end and year end reporting periods.
  • Translate MP business requirements into Oracle EFS structural hierarchies across the various business entities that MP supports.
  • Provide responses to related ad hoc requests as necessary.

Primary Focus

Our market leading midstream client has an immediate need for a Supplier Quality Specialist to join their team in the Calgary Head office location.  This is a contract position and is scheduled to run for twelve (12) months.

High-Level Description           

This position provides senior supply chain and technical expertise to enable reduced risk and maximum leverage for total cost of ownership by ensuring that only approved suppliers that meet technical, quality and commercial requirements are engaged to supply and work with our client.  This is accomplished by actively managing supplier performance and working with internal stakeholders.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Manage approved suppliers to ensure continued adherence to quality, supply chain, technical and commercial requirements
  • Develop supplier key performance Indicators and monitor in collaboration with other stakeholders.
  • Provide subject matter expertise (Materials, Service, Commercial, Technical and Quality) to:
  • Aid business leaders in making critical business decisions regarding supplier capabilities and performance.
  • Provide expertise to Project Managers, Buyers, Contract personnel and Operations in the selection of service or material providers.
  • Provide commercial and quality expertise to Engineering for the development of Equipment or Design Specifications. 
  • Recommend and lead improvements to current supplier performance management processes;
  • Development of enterprise audit plan for supplier assessments;
  • Manage the Approved Supplier List which requires activities such as the onboarding of new suppliers and advising them of performance expectations, policies and procedures and the identification of material or service provider gaps.
  • Manage the Supplier Management System to ensure that the system contains relevant and accurate information.  Provide training to all levels of the organization on the use of the system and leads the development of enhancements to the system by obtaining user feedback and working with IT.
  • Manage the Restricted Party Screening tool by ensuring all new suppliers are checked against this system and managing the associated processes for the use of the system.
  • As required, conduct Quality Management Assessments on suppliers using the ISO 9001 framework.
  • Provide assistance as necessary for regulatory audits.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

This position provides subject matter expertise in the selection and management of approved suppliers and any related projects to support supplier management initiatives

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required: 

  • University business degree (Supply Chain or related field) and 10+ years relevant experience; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a business degree
  • Lead Quality assessor/auditor certification from a recognized institution
  • Demonstrable understanding of various Quality Management Systems and regulatory standards (ISO 9001, ABSA, CSA, API)
  • Able to demonstrates ability to solve more complex problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions for complex and/or sensitive issues;
  • Gather required data from stakeholders and evaluate objectives and goals to create and lead project plans (depending on initiative)
  • High degree of business acumen and technical aptitude;
  • Excellent attention to detail, planning and organizational ability;
  • High degree of proficiency and skill with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio);
  • Broad business and technical knowledge in resolving problems, project management, identifying opportunities and with a keen awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing ideas and solutions to enhance business results;
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as effective presentation skills;

Preferred:

  • Completion of a SCM related professional certification, such as SCMP, CPIM, CSCP, PMAC or ISM, is considered an asset.
  • Project management designation is considered an asset

Working Conditions    

  • This role is a typical office based position with significant time spent sitting or standing.  Repetitive keyboarding will be required.
  • Domestic or International travel may be required including travel to other Canadian and US locations (Houston, Edmonton, Calgary, Duluth)

Electrical Engineering Lead

Our client is one of North America’s leading Energy Companies.  They have an immediate need for an Electrical Engineering Lead to join their team for a twelve (12) month contract opportunity.  This role will be located in their downtown Calgary head office location.

Focus

The Electrical Engineering Lead is responsible for design oversight of all equipment and systems required by the project(s) they are assigned to. The Engineering Lead will work closely with the Facilities Project Engineering team. The  Engineering Lead will also be called upon to provide Electrical SME support as needed depending on project workloads. Familiarity with instrumentation and controls would be an asset but not a requirement.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with functional groups and stakeholders to define project scopes, budgets and schedules
  • Contract management of Engineering Service Providers (ESPs); development of engineering Scopes of Work (SOW), review of engineering proposals and preparation of award recommendations, Earned Value Management (EVM) based on established Rules of Credit (ROC) and change management as required
  • Coordinate and provide leadership to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) allocated to the project team to complete technical activities as required
  • Monitors discipline specific deliverable quality and schedule
  • Participate in project design including the review of engineering deliverables and attendance in design review meetings; HAZID, HAZOP and 3D Model Reviews
  • Coordinate and support project contracts and procurement; assist in the development of the project procurement plan, preparation or review of RFQs, review of vendor/contractor proposals, prepare or review technical and commercial evaluations, prepare award recommendations and vendor/contractor management
  • Collaborate with and support operations and construction to resolve operability and constructability issues during project planning and execution phases
  • Collaborate with operations to coordinate outage and tie-in planning activities including the Management of Change (MOC) procedure
  • Collaborate with Environmental, Lands, Legal and Regulatory to ensure required project permitting and filings are completed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university (or demonstrated equivalent, (i.e. P.L.Eng.)
  • Registered or eligible for immediate registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta and/or British Colombia (or Licensee)
  • 10+ years engineering experience
  • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of regulatory governances (federal and provincial), codes and standards (CSA, IEEE, API, US codes an asset but not necessary)
  • Experience in dealing with industrial electrical distribution for medium voltage and low voltage systems
  • Experience with selection and sizing of primary and back up electrical power generation systems and associated controls
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for nontechnical audience
  • Basic computer skills including spreadsheets and word processing
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
  • A demonstration of effective troubleshooting skills

The main function of the Technical Assistant is to provide documentation support to the team. The individual will be reporting to a direct supervisor within Logistics and Surface Development. Providing technical and functional documentation expertise, this role will require interaction with a broad range of employees and contractors both at a worker level as well as at the supervisory and management levels. This role needs commitment, willingness to learn, professionalism and customer service to the business units to which the team supports.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintain control procedures, engineering and technical documents / drawings, to received and issued
  • Ensure proper naming conventions for documentation are correctly updated and document numbers are assigned.
  • Perform quality check of technical documentation about numbering readability of file formats, verification / revision identification etc.
  • Ensure effective and traceable flow of technical documentation between the different parties within vendors and project

VALUE PROPOSITION:

This position requires a team-oriented candidate. The Tax Analyst is primarily responsible for the Canadian and International income tax compliance functions.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of monthly income tax provision, current and deferred
