Position: Project Scheduler III

Location: Jackson, Michigan

Job Description:

  • Organize, implement and maintain scheduling management system supporting identified projects and their plans.
  • Assist to set up tasks and sub tasks to ensure satisfactory realization of project contract requirements as scheduled.
  • Log project time-lines and maintain P6 database of tasks and its status.
  • Log all new information into P6 database and provide scheduled reports for contract coordination and reporting purposes.
  • Interact with project staff & project stakeholders to schedule work and coordinate assignments.
  • Design and develop project schedules. Interact with project teams and contractors to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules and identification of variances from original plan.
  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend alternative work paths.
  • Develop and update weekly schedule working with superintendents and field engineers and project managers.
  • Support project management team to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems.
  • Assist project team to develop and maintain periodic status reports to keep management informed on project progress.
  • Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
  • Interact with project team members, contractors, cost engineers, and management.

Skills:

Mandatory Skills:

  • Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with project team members and stakeholders in order to receive and produce schedule information.
  • Must be able to participate fully in all project and department meetings and discussions effectively.
  • Must understand how to operate in a P6 environment including knowledge in layouts, activity codes, resources, group & sort and reporting.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Other Beneficial Skills:

  • PMP or other PMI certification would be beneficial but not required.
  • PSP or CST or other AACEI certification would be beneficial but not required.
  • Knowledge of Schedule Quality practices in regard to P6 schedules would be beneficial but not required.
  • Project Gating procedures knowledge would be beneficial but not required.
  • Work Experience with Major Project scheduling a plus.

Education:

  • Project Scheduler needs at least a High School Education but candidates with Associate's Degree's, Bachelor's degrees or Master's Degree's will be factored into the selection.

Job Description:

  • Develop, improve and create advanced reporting that aggregates Enterprise Resource Planning data from across the company to be used for business planning, resource optimization and management reviews (3-24 month forecast)
  • Provide leaders, including senior leadership, with effective and accurate aggregated demand and resource data to support decision making and alignment with strategic, financial and operational plans
  • Provide analytical support to improve the quality and timeliness of ERP reporting
  • Support planners, analysts and leaders as needed to improve ERP data, in coordination with the appropriate management resources
  • Provide insight into best practice reporting tools & ERP platforms
  • Responsible for updating key metrics to measure the performance/health of the ERP process

Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required; preferred field of study in Industrial Engineering or related technical field
  • 2+ years of experience with formal Resource Modeling, Planning or Sales
  • 2+ & Operations Planning (S&OP) experience preferred
  • Candidates with 5+ Financial Planning experience or related roles along with operational experience will be considered

Job Description:

  • Will be responsible for gas projects associated with System Improvement and New Business projects.
  • The review of blueprints, drawings, property descriptions and plans to verify requests are within the capability of the system.
  • Responsible for creating and managing multiple designs at one time that are technical in nature.
  • Will take ownership of the creation of gas service designs, which involves the use of Microsoft Excel macros.
  • Will work collaboratively with fellow Distribution Pipeline Engineering Designers and Gas Design Team Leads to ensure seamless integration with associated project content, design template(s), and overall final product.

  • The Business Technology IT Application Portfolio team is responsible for the requirement definition, design, implementation, and unit testing of IT solutions. 
  • The team is responsible for documenting high level business requirements and translating them into detailed functional and non-functional specifications. 
  • As such, the team assists the business in determining which requirements can be automated and how they are integrated with other business and technical processes. 
  • Further, the team selects appropriate techniques for the elicitation of detailed requirements taking into account the nature of the required changes, established practice and the characteristics and culture of those providing the requirements. 
  • Additionally, the team specifies and documents requirements, ensuring testability and traceability back to source while partnering with quality assurance in defining acceptance tests.  
  • The team is responsible for the detailed design and implementation of the IT solution to meet the business requirements. 

Job Description:

  • The Application Developer works with business partners and IT staff to identify application development solutions, new applications or resolutions to problems reported on current applications. 
  • The Application Developer may participate in specification reviews for system enhancements delivered by suppliers or during the idea and project inception phase, driving early solutions. 
  • The Application Developer may provide input and support planning and prioritization for business and/or IT process related activities. 
  • The Application Developer may identify processes for improvement, document existing processes, identify and analyze gaps between current processes and the desired state, design new processes, and develop process performance measures. 
  • The Application Developer teams with the business partners, Business Technology Partners, and Solution Architects to document proposals and create RFx documents. 
  • Work with end-users, business partners, and suppliers to define business requirements for defect resolution, process improvement, or solution development
  • Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the assigned area's systems, organization, and business processes.
  • Tasks may include work on definition and selection of new applications/solutions as well as working on a project team to implement a solution; after implementation, will be expected to provide second/third level support for application(s)
  • Perform prototyping, design, documentation, and implementation of complex, cost effective solutions.
  • Provide input to alternative solutions.
  • Identify technical options and may define the detailed specifications of technology solutions.
  • Support the Testing Center of Excellence in requirement interpretation, test case development, and data mining.
  • Ensure that information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices are an integral element of the system design.
  • Select appropriate tools, following enterprise standards and protocols for project teams.
  • Enlist appropriate experts to ensure solutions are fully compliant with architecture process and standards.
  • Provide systems expertise to system users, business partners, and other internal/external customers including trouble shooting issues, as well as, identifying and correcting inefficiencies.
  • Continuously strengthen technical knowledge in new and existing technologies.
  • Build relationships with IT strategic suppliers to gain an understanding of cross-functional processes and required interactions between the suppliers and IT.

EPC Cost Estimator

Position: EPC Cost Estimator

Location: Jackson, Michigan

Job Description:

  • Prepare complete estimates for assigned project(s) of medium size and complexity and many types of contracts, either directly or through subordinate personnel.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. 

Typical duties include:

  1. Develop pricing utilizing industry standard guidelines and estimating guides.
  2. Prepare quantity takeoff and daily utilization of software tools.
  3. Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
  4. Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  5. Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned. 
  6. Utilization of the Cost Estimating software with mentoring from Sr. Estimator(s).
  7. Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimates figures and provide assistance to Sr Estimator to incorporate into cost database. 
  8. Interface with owner, A/E, and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
  9. Estimates should be broken into WBS structure by material, Labor and Equipment.
  10. Utilize estimating standards for mark-up, contingency and other percentages of construction.

 

Familiar with WinEst is preferable but not necessary. Construction management strongly preferred.

  • Minimum, 1-2 years of construction cost estimating working expe­rience.
  • Soft skills are most important. They need someone who is comfortable working with many teams, communication is key.

Education:

  • Associates or Bachelor degree preferred. Less than acceptable with relevant experience in estimating.
