What will you do?

•        Participate in the design and organization of experiments in conjunction with the Tech Lead and or R&D Team members. Serve as a resource to R&D Team.

•        Perform hands-on tests of new products in development. Prepare samples and execute tests, collaborating with colleagues as necessary to gain access and training. Record test data in accordance with GLP.

•        In addition to executing existing tests, you will also be expected to propose, design, improve, develop and/or implement new tests procedures for evaluating new product’s specifications within the verification and validation activities framework.

•        Contribute to the generation of work instructions, tests protocols, and reports.

•        Follow departmental work instructions, SOP’s, OSHA safety regulations and cGMPs & cGLPs to perform assigned tasks.

•        Monitor and oversee lab supply inventory, generate expense purchase requisitions, if applicable, and maintain documentation in accordance with established procedures.

•        Interface with internal groups to assure laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration and documents conform with established practices.

Knowledge, Skill or Ability:

•        Deep knowledge in medical device disposables (Class II), with relevant experience in developing tests methods, writing test protocols, and verifying product design specifications of new products.

•        Backgrounds in manufacturing process development related to medical device, disposables an asset (IQ, OQ, PQ, Process FMEA)

•        Basic knowledge of mechanical design of fixtures (CAD Design – SolidWorks)

•        Familiarity with the mechanical testing of plastic parts and sub-assemblies (e.g. tensile/shear/compression test, hardness measurement, pressure decay measurement, burst test) and product reliability tests (e.g. any tear/wear/aging test)

•        Ability to work under cGMP/cGLP guidelines

•        Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment are required.

•        Demonstrate strong ethical behavior

•        Detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team

•        Possess good computer skills (Microsoft Office is required. Word, Excel)

Must have:

We are looking more for a candidate with associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science with exposure to Medical Device Industry and plastics products as disposables and experience with mechanical lab tests as described in the job desk.

Education:

•        Minimum (required): Associates Degree in Technology or Engineering

EHS Specialist

We are looking for a EHS Specialist for our American multinational conglomerate company in Westborough, MA for a contract opportunity.

On day to day basis:

This position is responsible for conducting Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) activities, under the direction and supervision of the site EHS leader. The primary focus is to conduct site-wide and department area EHS inspections including for hazardous waste storage areas, support site emergency response activities, conduct & follow up on employee injury & other incident investigations, maintain EHS recordkeeping systems, conduct or assist with EHS employee site trainings, and participate in other EHS program activities to ensure employee safety and regulatory compliance in the manufacturing environment. Specifically, workers that directly or indirectly support services that are invoiced to client through one of several contractual arrangements (e.g., time/materials, statement of work, purchase agreement, direct labor).

Education:

A College student who is working toward a 4 year environmental or safety degree would be awesome. I guess to relate that to more traditional terms minimum associates degree. Ideally in an environmental or safety discipline.

Shifts:

There are multiple 2nd and 3rd shift work schedules as each of the 4 major departments have a different schedule. Some start at 2:30 or 3:30 or 4:30 pm, and either end at 12:30 am, 2:30 or 3:30 am. And FYI, one department starts their first shift at 4:30 am.

So, for this EHS Specialist role, we primarily want someone to accommodate most of the evening hours by starting late afternoon. Also, open tomorrow someone starting as early as 3 pm and working thru 12 am (9 hours per day).

In addition, we will start this new person for their first 2 weeks during day shift hours so they can be properly trained before starting their night shift hours.

Qualifications/Requirements

The Project Engineer position is located in the Westborough R&D Life Cycle Engineering group within the Biotechnology business area in Life Sciences. The primary focus of this position is to provide technical guidance and expertise in the bioprocess area with applications and engineering knowledge of single-use bioreactor systems; cell bags and hollow fiber filtration. This position requires the application of design, investigation root cause analysis, product testing, data analysis and report writing to resolve customer complaints / product issues and implement existing product design improvements, all while working in a cross-functional team environment.

 Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or related STEM Major.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Bioprocessing, Biopharmaceutical, Biotechnology or related field.
  • Demonstrated broad exposure to HW/SW/Systems design and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, etc)
  • Knowledge and experience with regulated industries quality systems and relevant regulations such as cGMP ISO 9001, ISO 13485.
  • Experience with Upstream Bioprocessing Equipment such as Bioreactors and mixers.
