Job Purpose:

The Project Analyst is an integral member of the Infrastructure Solution Delivery (ISD) team and is responsible for assisting in the coordination of various activities associated with the projects & programs assigned to the team. Their principal responsibility is to support the project manager to ensure that the project delivers to time, cost and quality standards. They are an expert in National Grid PPM frameworks and provide guidance and support to the project to ensure that they are compliant, creating action plans and escalating non-compliance if required. As examples, responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Tracking of various aspects of project development and execution.
  • Assist in the development of key project-related deliverables assigned by the Project Manager.
  • Perform logistical support to the project managers.
  • Develop other project-related processes and artifacts assigned by the project manager

Project Analyst Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure that the project/program complies to National Grid frameworks and policies, providing support and guidance to the project as required
  • Responsible for internal project audits to check that all relevant project artifacts/documentation are in place, ensuring that the project is always audit-ready
  • Supports all external audits as required
  • Escalate non-compliance to the Project Manager in the first instance, then the Portfolio Director if required
  • Supporting the monthly financial process, ensuring that forecasts are as accurate as possible and monthly finance deadlines are adhered to
  • Assist in the development of project status, program board and/or steering committee material
  • Assist with the drafting of project documentation
  • Supporting project governance activities, including setting project cadence for meetings and reporting for the project
  • Has in-depth knowledge of the delivery framework, governance & structure of agile & waterfall projects, guiding other members of the project team
  • Assisting with setting up / maintaining the project plan and RAID log in Microsoft Project Online
  • Provide a central point of accountability for coordinating and processing invoices
  • Effectively and accurately supporting communication of relevant project information to the project team and external parties
  • Schedule/coordinate project activities to include meetings, teleconferences, videoconferences, etc.
  • Participate in both internal and external meetings, keeping accurate notes and distributing meeting minutes as appropriate
  • Assist in tracking development, approval, and processing for all Statement of Works, Engage WPs, other
  • Assist in the development of the closure paper and associated proceedings

Management & Reporting Structure:

  • The Project Analyst team report directly into the ISD Portfolio Director, with a dotted line into the Project Manager
  • The Portfolio Director sets overall roles & responsibilities and the strategy for the Project Analyst team
  • The Project Manager will handle day to day task management specific to the project
  • The Portfolio Director is responsible for deciding what projects the Project Analysts are assigned to, based on capacity, prioritization & skillset
  • Project Analysts will work with the project manager to resolve issues on a day to day basis, escalating to the Portfolio Director on an exception basis

Field Supervisor

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a Field Supervisor on behalf of one of the largest Utility company in Waltham, MA.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed underground transmission construction plans that include planned outages, construction phases, construction steps, material, equipment requirements, lay down areas, and schedules that align with the project plan, safety standards, policies and processes to ensure that the execution of the work plans will promote a safe working environment and minimize risk
  • Review project construction drawings and provide details or corrections as they apply from company design standards and EOP’s
  • Translate functional policy into processes and procedures that drive greater efficiencies for client and ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental regulatory standards/ legislation/governance. Understand collective bargaining agreements that could impact work plan delivery
  • Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area
  • Provide proactive leadership and direction to contracted workforce to ensure that high standards of safety, security, and environmental compliance are developed and consistently maintained
  • Review project health and safety plans, inclusive of Project Hazard Assessment for high hazard work practices
  • Hold clearances and non-reclose assurances required for construction as an authorized person within Clearance & Control
  • Monitor contractor resource levels, performance, and implementation plan progress for assigned projects to be certain that appropriate resource levels are being utilized
  • Foster and manage internal and contractor relationships that encourage open/honest communication and drive safety, performance, quality, efficiency, customer service, issue resolution, and project successes
  • Drive Contractor performance through monitoring construction project status, assessing schedule performance, reassigning resources, and monitoring environmental concerns to ensure efficient project delivery and timely internal stakeholder support
  • Participate in project conference calls and meetings to support the planning and execution of projects. Provided construction updates and reports
  • Assure that contracted personnel are properly directed, trained, licensed, and evaluated within Company guidelines and policies
  • Interact and communicate closely with project stakeholders to ensure timely project completion
  • Support weather related events and system emergency restoration and on-call responsibilities

Other duties as assigned

  • Strong background in electric utility construction, supervision, and construction Management
  • Broad knowledge of UG Transmission construction
  • Knowledge of federal, state, OSHA, local, and applicable environmental rules and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with self-direction and high motivation
  • Ability to understand construction field issues, prints specification sheets, schematics, one-line diagrams, and instructional information to construct, maintain, and troubleshoot electric transmission systems
  • A thorough understanding of electrical principles and the hazards associated with electrical transmission UG construction
  • Ability to travel throughout the service territory and work extended hours and weekends as required on construction projects and system emergencies
  • Ability to be listed as authorized person on client Clearance and Control list

Planner/Scheduler

We are looking for a Planner/Scheduler on behalf of one of the largest Utility company in Waltham, MA.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop a detailed construction plan that involves planned outages (shutdowns), construction phases, construction steps, material, and equipment requirements, lay down areas, and overall time schedule with final ready for load dates that align with the project plan.
  • Must have the ability to review substation design drawings and provide comments to engineering. Must be able to develop a detailed construction sequence based on the design criteria. Must be able to provide constructive input to the design team in order to identify potential construction issues such as the need for temporary facilities.
  • Provide input to engineering in order to identify potential areas to implement safety by design. Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within the assigned area.
  • Attend site meetings and participate with the project team to evaluate different engineering solutions, construction strategies, and project delivery strategies in order to deliver the project safely and efficiently.
  • Understand collective bargaining agreements that could impact work plan delivery.
  • Develop work plans that are aligned with safety standards, policies and processes in order to ensure that the execution of the work plans will promote a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff. Collaborate with other groups to ensure system reliability, safety, and efficiency are demonstrated during large scale projects.
  • Review health and safety plans for each specific project, inclusive of Project Hazard Assessment (PHA) for high hazard work practices.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership during all site meetings and project discussions. Lead by example and ensure safety is incorporated into all aspects of the project and the daily job.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 to 8 years of equivalent experience in the electricity construction management environment with 3 to 5 years in utility management.
  • Experience in substation construction with a focus on construction methods, cost control, safety, environmental, quality and service, and performance. Demonstrated knowledge and application of Safety and Environmental rules.
  • Ability to assess potential conflicts by reviewing construction drawings and provide solutions to the project team.
  • Must be able to work in a cross-functional role to develop a construction plan with inputs from the various operations groups, project management, engineering, and dispatch control room.
  • Analytical Thinking: Sees relationships between work plans, safety issues, constructability, and spend vs. efficiency reports identifying several likely causes or consequences of a situation.

Lab Technician

We are looking for a Lab technician on behalf of one of the largest Healthcare company in Marlborough, MA.  The Lab Technician must be able to work with a team of technical resources to carry out test requests in the area of electrical and high-power components and the candidate will be performing specific tests that requires the interpretation and understanding of the different standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide support in administering Community DG programs and other incentive programs.
  • Assist in maintaining records of the DG project beyond the first-time setup of the account.
  • Help troubleshoot various billing, metering and account maintenance issues after the interconnection.
  • Process administrative, program-related and design changes for existing DG projects.
  • Provide billing support for the development of Distributed Energy Resource (DER) programs across client territories.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal & external stakeholders for aftercare activities.

Qualification Requirements

  • An associate degree in a related area and 2 years of related experience is required
  • Customer Management experience in the utility industry preferred.

We are looking for a Project Document Controller on behalf of one of the largest Healthcare company in Marlborough, MA.

Enterprise Project Document Controller shall provide proficient and effective support to the project teams to ensure all project documentation goals are met. Primarily, the job holder shall manage a portfolio of projects, Document Management Systems and related documentation processes in accordance with internal QMS procedures, specified good documentation practices and specific customer requirements. Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of project documentation including but not limited to project operations and programs support including standardization, quality management, methods creation and maintenance, process improvement and tools for the project management and related functions.
  • Control all aspects of project documentation on multiple simultaneous global projects, utilizing various control methods/systems.
  • Prepare, operate, maintain and update Document Control Procedures in line with the Company’s Document Management Systems.

  • Support the PM and Team in the generation and submission of the periodic Customer reports as required by the Contract.
  • Maintain Documentation Forecast dates and interface with the PMO Master Scheduler
  • Arrange, attend and minute internal and internal & external project meetings as required.
  • Acting as the focal point for all Document Control matters relating to the customer. He or she shall ensure that all Project Document specialists are performing tasks according to this procedure and any relevant Customer Procedure.
  • Perform document control quality check before submission of documents to client.
  • Ensure Compliance with all DC Procedures, internal and external.
  • Coordinate all documents received from Customer and sites involved in the Project.
  • Chairing meetings with Project Leaders/Team to review status of the documentation on a weekly or other agreed periodic basis

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Applicable Document Control experience of 5+ within Project Engineering, Design, Commissioning & Qualification documentation, preferably related to the Life Sciences/Bio Medical industry.
  • Need to be skilled in use of IT tools for document control and distribution, document scheduling etc.
  • Work on a high accuracy level, able to manage heavy workloads and understand work methods and routines as outlined in DCC procedures and tools.

Cost Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Level Cost Engineer on behalf of one of the largest natural gas distributors in North America. They will manage total cost control, estimating, forecasting, monitoring and budgeting throughout a project lifecycle.

 Duties Include:

  • Plan, track, measure, forecast and report project cost during project execution and/or development.
  • Monthly review of cost/cash flow forecasts with the project team to generate regular reporting requirements.
  • Provide timely, accurate and relevant guidance, governance and support to projects on approved cost controls standards to manage Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) components including External Engineering services, Procurement of Material/Equipment, Construction services, internal cost, Allowance for Funds Used During Construction, Contingency, Escalation, etc.
  • Maintain cost and schedule planning, tracking and reporting tools. 
  • Generate all monthly, bi-monthly, and quarterly reports, including reporting for monthly review meetings with Senior Management.
  • Possess a solid understanding and application of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and methodology in order to identify, analyze and report cost risks in a timely fashion.
  • Assist project cost controls teams with timely and accurate data gathering and delivery issues.
  • Participate and resolve any issues in execution of joint Cost, Schedule and Risk Health Checks to verify effective planning and implementation of cost processes.
  • Occasional travel may be required

 Skills Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in performing cost and schedule management and other project controls functions over engineering, procurement, construction components on large capital projects,
  • Experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial and/or Power industries.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.

Project:

The Senior Analyst will work closely with all levels of the Gas Business Enablement (GBE) team. The primary responsibility for the Analyst is to help with regulatory activities for the team.
