Business Process Analyst

We are currently looking for a Business Process Analyst on behalf  of our electrical utility client in  Jackson Michigan.  The contract will run until at least January 2020, with a possible extension.

Working with as part of an in house team, in a lean environment; the Analyst will review customer service and marketing departments and provide recommendations to improve process and productivity. He/She will assist in coordinating the  Marketing business plan to align with KPIs of Customer Experience plans. This includes reinforcing the delivery of the key marketing capabilities and strategic initiatives; and provide a consistent process for the Marketing department to quickly adapt to the changing business conditions, leveraging lean principles.

Duties Include:

  • Business Plan Deployment (strategy implementation) and lean principles execution for the Customer Experience organization.
  • Assist in the coordination and align business plans
  • Includes the development and standardization of scorecards, waterfalls and KPI trees, visual management, operating reviews, and problem solving.
  • Develop questions for review/scorecard and apply Socratic method & lean principles to enable the process.
  • Identifying areas of overlap or gaps in performance, resources and priorities.
  • Assist in the weekly and monthly operating review process for both the Marketing Department and Customer Experience division.
  • Prepare appropriate materials for each review.

Position: Customer Energy Management Service Designer I

Location: Hamilton Township, MI

Job Description:

  • Analyze and resolve a wide variety of work procedures (which may involve the engineering design, work order preparation, field checking, scheduling coordination, material provisioning and ordering, billing, redlining, preparation of as-builts, and work order reconciliation and closeout).
  • Interact with other internal departments to resolve customer issues, and communicate, negotiate and counsel on a variety of topics including payment options, complex technical information or procedures, energy rates, and explaining company policy in a variety of energy-related areas.
  • Interpret and analyze a wide variety of complex technical/scientific design projects, perform scheduling for multiple tasks or work coordination, and respond to customer inquiries including but not exclusive to new energy requests.
  • These tasks involve the evaluation of alternative courses of action, recommending and coordinating the appropriate actions through the work process to meet customer energy needs.
  • Coordinate with employees in other departments and/or external agencies to meet any special requirements of the energy request orders.
  • Job will include field site visits to take field notes and/or work meet customers on site. Must possess a valid driver's license

Skills:

  • The ideal applicant should exhibit exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • It is also critical to: Possess strong computer (Windows, Microsoft Office) and analytical skills -SAP & CAD experience
  • Have the ability to interact with internal and external clients to receive highly advanced information and data
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • A two-year associate degree in the requisite scientific or technical field (48 scientific or technical credit hours as measured on a semester basis). Or, have completed two years of college course work (60 Credits) towards a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

Job Description:

  • Will be responsible for gas projects associated with System Improvement and New Business projects.
  • The review of blueprints, drawings, property descriptions and plans to verify requests are within the capability of the system.
  • Responsible for creating and managing multiple designs at one time that are technical in nature.
  • Will take ownership of the creation of gas service designs, which involves the use of Microsoft Excel macros.
  • Will work collaboratively with fellow Distribution Pipeline Engineering Designers and Gas Design Team Leads to ensure seamless integration with associated project content, design template(s), and overall final product.

  • The Business Technology IT Application Portfolio team is responsible for the requirement definition, design, implementation, and unit testing of IT solutions. 
  • The team is responsible for documenting high level business requirements and translating them into detailed functional and non-functional specifications. 
  • As such, the team assists the business in determining which requirements can be automated and how they are integrated with other business and technical processes. 
  • Further, the team selects appropriate techniques for the elicitation of detailed requirements taking into account the nature of the required changes, established practice and the characteristics and culture of those providing the requirements. 
  • Additionally, the team specifies and documents requirements, ensuring testability and traceability back to source while partnering with quality assurance in defining acceptance tests.  
  • The team is responsible for the detailed design and implementation of the IT solution to meet the business requirements. 

Job Description:

  • The Application Developer works with business partners and IT staff to identify application development solutions, new applications or resolutions to problems reported on current applications. 
  • The Application Developer may participate in specification reviews for system enhancements delivered by suppliers or during the idea and project inception phase, driving early solutions. 
  • The Application Developer may provide input and support planning and prioritization for business and/or IT process related activities. 
  • The Application Developer may identify processes for improvement, document existing processes, identify and analyze gaps between current processes and the desired state, design new processes, and develop process performance measures. 
  • The Application Developer teams with the business partners, Business Technology Partners, and Solution Architects to document proposals and create RFx documents. 
  • Work with end-users, business partners, and suppliers to define business requirements for defect resolution, process improvement, or solution development
  • Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the assigned area's systems, organization, and business processes.
  • Tasks may include work on definition and selection of new applications/solutions as well as working on a project team to implement a solution; after implementation, will be expected to provide second/third level support for application(s)
  • Perform prototyping, design, documentation, and implementation of complex, cost effective solutions.
  • Provide input to alternative solutions.
  • Identify technical options and may define the detailed specifications of technology solutions.
  • Support the Testing Center of Excellence in requirement interpretation, test case development, and data mining.
  • Ensure that information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices are an integral element of the system design.
  • Select appropriate tools, following enterprise standards and protocols for project teams.
  • Enlist appropriate experts to ensure solutions are fully compliant with architecture process and standards.
  • Provide systems expertise to system users, business partners, and other internal/external customers including trouble shooting issues, as well as, identifying and correcting inefficiencies.
  • Continuously strengthen technical knowledge in new and existing technologies.
  • Build relationships with IT strategic suppliers to gain an understanding of cross-functional processes and required interactions between the suppliers and IT.
