Area Manager

A engineering consulting company that has made unprecedented growth within the Oil and Gas Industry is seeking a Area Manager for the Rhode Island.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to President, the Area Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for the development of the regional office and develop clients base.
  • Review project proposal and execution plan as agreed with client;
  • Prepare status reports, gathering, analyzing and summarizing relevant information about the project for management and for stakeholders
  • Validate customer requirement, manage project scope, timelines, hours and assumptions.
  • Finalize the definition of project scope, WBS (work breakdown structure), budget, schedule and objectives;
  • Assign and manage project team at each phase and determine project responsibilities and organisation chart;
  • Interface and coordinate with the client Counterpart;
  • Define, with Discipline Engineering Managers, final project man-hours and deliverables;
  • Plan and manage project execution activities (engineering, procurement and construction) overall;
  • Develop or update (as required) the project execution plan (PEP);
  • Establish, with project controls, the project deliverables schedule and overall execution schedule;
  • Organise the kick-off meeting (internal & with client) to explain the scope, KPIs and schedule;
  • Direct, with the Project Engineer, engineering and design work to meet established budget and schedule;
  • Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, schedule changes and recommend actions;
  • Review and approve RFQ and IFC packages before final issue;
  • Analyse and review technical evaluations of contractor/supplier bids;
  • Manage the overall project budget and contingencies;
  • Control project costs by approving expenditures and variations;
  • Manage project resource allocation;Communicate effectively with project team to provide assistance and guidance;
  • Integrate lessons learned as necessary in coordination with project team and the client;
  • Review deliverables’ progress using appropriate tools;
  • Assign work priorities, determine schedule and deliverables for changes;
  • Manage team productivity and effectiveness, and ensure outputs meet the requirements & satisfaction of all stakeholders;
  • Ensure implementation of client procedures and processes;
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders;

HSSE Responsibilities

  • Comply with policies and requirements;
  • Know and respect all the security protocols required to perform your tasks;
  • Participate and contribute to the achievement of  HSSE objectives;
  • Comply with all HSSE requirements, rules and regulations when entering a work site (outside of the office);
  • identify and report all hazards.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Apply the appropriate cost codes to the work performed;
  • Work and respect all allocated budgets;
  • Pre-approve of all expenses required to qualify for reimbursement;
