Our client is one of Canada’s largest, market leading integrated oil companies.  Due to an expansion of their Western Canadian business, they have an immediate need for a Construction Site Representative to work with their team on a 6 and 1 rotational basis.  This would be a contract role would be located in Lloydminster, Alberta. 

The Construction Manager/Supervisor will coordinate and monitor Contractors' activities to ensure compliance with the Contract as relates to Scope, project standards, specifications and design drawings. You would represent our client to the contractors and provide direction and support to facilitate the safe and efficient execution of the work through out the site.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to the Construction Superintendent.
  • Responsible for Health, Safety and Environment and overall site security.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient performance of all construction activities, in compliance with construction contracts, specifications, IFC drawings and for completion of all works within the budget and schedule constraints.
  • Responsible for the coordination of day-to-day site activities, including coordinating with CMT, construction contractors and Operations.
  • Attending construction progress meetings.
  • Reporting construction progress on a regular basis and any issues / constraints that may impact construction activities, safety, construction costs and construction schedule.
  • Reviews and makes final recommendations to the Project Manager for change requests and RFIs and submits these requests to the Project Manager for review prior to giving site approval.
  • Responsible for the inventory and management of free-issue material.
  • Responsible for overseeing overall field quality control and Health and Safety activities and for compliance with project / site Quality Control and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Responsible for attending and reviewing incident investigations, including HSE related violations.

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

Our client a leader in the global agricultural market has an immediate need for a Senior Project Procurement Adviser to join their team in Saskatoon for a one year contract opportunity. 

High-Level Description  

  • Coordinates, executes, reviews and analyzes the procurement of materials, equipment and supplies in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures.

Our market leading energy client has an immediate need for a Water Chemical Treatment Technologist in Lloydminster Saskatchewan. This a 12 month contract position.

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for supporting water/chemical treatment and corrosion management for the Lloyd Thermal SAGD facilities in our client’s Heavy Oil and Gas business unit

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical and operational support for Thermal SAGD facilities.
  • Review and evaluate existing corrosion mitigation strategies including chemical/water treatment programs.
  • Work closely with chemical service providers to take samples, review analytical data and ensure they are held accountable to managing their programs effectively.
  • Review and analyze various plant processes to identify water treatment and chemical treatment issues in the produced water, boiler feed water, steam generation and water re-use processes.
  • Participate in Management of Change reviews for changes to facility equipment processes or operational practices.

Must Haves

  • Diploma or degree in chemistry or other relevant discipline from an accredited institution or a diploma or degree in corrosion science or chemical engineering.
  • NACE International Chemical Treatment Specialist, or Internal Corrosion Technologist certification.
  • Licensed professional engineer in Alberta or Saskatchewan, or eligibility for registration in either province.
  • 5 years of experience working in upstream or downstream oil and gas facilities (Thermal/SAGD experience preferred).

Our market leading energy client has an immediate need for a Reliability Engineer to be a part of their Heavy Oil & Gas (HOG) business unit and join the Reliability Engineering Team in Lloydminster.  This a twelve month contract position. Could this be the role for you?

In this role you will assist the Reliability Engineering and Maintenance Ready for Operation Team in the continued transition from reactive to proactive maintenance for the HOG business unit in Lloydminster. You will be responsible for developing methods for improving maintenance, reliability and optimizing the life cycle of assets. The primary focus will be leading equipment criticality assessments to help determine priority for maintenance and reliability tasks on the preservation of assets. You will also utilize reliability engineering tools, such as SAP-PM, Meridium, RCFA, and PM optimization to maximize equipment reliability. In addition to these skills, you will need to demonstrate strong business judgment in all aspects of communication and organizational skills as well as thrive in a busy work environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead Root Cause analysis on equipment failures to contribute to continuous improvement.

  • Utilize reliability engineering tools to assess and maximize equipment reliability.
  • Systematically define, design, develop, monitor, and refine an asset maintenance plan that includes:
    • Value-added preventive maintenance tasks.
    • Effective utilization of predictive condition monitoring and other non-destructive testing methodologies to proactively identify potential reliability issues.
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for assets.
    • Support the development of Reliability Centered Maintenance processes.
    • Assist in the financial justification of asset reliability upgrades and improvements using life cycle costing.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Electrical/Instrumentation or Mechanical.
  • Professional Engineer designation that is recognized by APEGA or APEGS.
  • Stamp (or Professional Stamp or Permit to Practice Stamp).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years related to maintenance/ process and industrial experience in Oil Industry /Pulp or paper mill/mining experience with a focus on reliability studies, root cause failure analysis, risk assessment, criticality analysis.

Electrical and Instrumentation Technical Specialist

Our market leading energy client has an immediate need for an MRO – Electrical and Instrumentation Technical Specialist to provide technical support to the Heavy Oil and Gas, Thermal, Maintenance Ready for Operations (M-RFO) team. The M-RFO process establishes proactive maintenance programs in step with Thermal Raw Water projection execution. The scope of the M-RFO team is expanding to include MOCs and existing thermal facilities. This a 12 month contract position located in Lloydminster with occasional site visits to operational facilities.

What you will do:

  • Support the creation of the SAP Hierarchy
  • Audit the SAP hierarchy and resolve discrepancies
  • Participate in asset criticality and critical spares identification
  • Lead and assist in the development, creation, and optimization of SAP Plant Maintenance in alignment with the client’s maintenance and planning standards
  • Collaborate with required stakeholders as required to complete scope
  • Build time based and conditions-based Preserve Task Lists
  • Build Restore Task Lists
  • Build / contribute to Operator Performed Maintenance Task Lists
  • Lead and assist in the definition of Assembly creation
  • Lead and assist in the development / creation of Material Masters and Equipment BOMs
  • Roll out SAP Maintenance Plans, Items and Task Lists to the facility Maintenance and Operations Teams
  • Lead the evaluation of critical spares
  • Collaborate with required stakeholders as required to complete scope
  • Identify failures modes and associated critical spares; define maintenance strategy
  • Create Material Masters and Equipment BOMs with critical identification
  • Lead review and acceptance of critical spares lists and maintenance strategy with facility Maintenance and Operations Teams
  • Identify warehouse preservation requirements of critical sparing
  • Ensure processes are carried out effectively and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead or support the development of new or modification of existing procedures and work instructions
  • Support team initiatives as needed

Must haves:

  • Instrumentation journeyman OR Electrical & Instrumentation dual ticket journeyman.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with instrumentation maintenance in the oil and gas, petrochemical, pulp and paper or power generation industries
  • Experience with instrumentation work order execution, task list scoping, equipment troubleshooting
  • Experience / working knowledge of a Centralized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), e.g. SAP PM, Maximo
  • A good understanding and working knowledge of:
    • Pressure equipment, rotating, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls equipment,
    • Various engineered drawings and documents, e.g. P&IDs, single lines drawings, datasheets, equipment manuals
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office suite
  • Professional and personable individual who:
    • Is organized and able to prioritize
    • Works well in a team as well as individually to achieve results in a busy environment with multiple stakeholders

Program Manager

Our Utilities client is looking Program Manager with proven knowledge and experience in leading the establishment and improvement of Portfolio Management practices, PMO and Project Management practices, Enterprise Architecture practices and IT delivery improvements. This candidate will have expertise in these knowledge areas to guide and support cohesive implementation of improvements within the organization.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the program and providing support, guidance and mentorship of the program team, training or other support as required

Position Summary:

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and document business data requirements and sources.
  • Translate various business processes and requirements in an existing business environment and convert them into the development of conceptual, logical and physical data models.
  • Design and implement database mechanisms to maintain data integrity, reusability, redundancy, and sharing across applications.

  • Knowledge of technical analytics tools to perform analysis, conduct research, and present findings to the IT & Business leadership.
  • Experience with agile methodologies including Scrum and Kan-Ban.
  • An ability to interpret research, extracting insight from data, linking to strategies and communicating a compelling summary of findings to drive results.
  • Hands-on proficient experience with SQL databases, relational databases, or cloud database environments.
  • Knowledge in analytic tools such as Power BI or equivalent cloud environments, and data platforms such as Tableau, Qlik, Databricks, Python, R, Azure, Spotfire or equivalent.
  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative consumer research techniques.

Senior Buyer Capital Projects

2-3 year contract.

Responsible for meeting purchasing needs for the Capital projects group for Contract Services, Materials and Equipment.  This includes planning, reviewing, supplier sourcing and selection, competitive bidding, order placement and follow up.  In this role the Capital buyer will help align strategic priorities between Strategic Sourcing and Capital Projects.

Duties:

25%        Communication and coordination of purchasing activities with assigned requestors, and end-user feedback. Formulate and implement plan of action for deficiencies.

20%        Supplier sourcing, negotiations, contract development and management

25%        Process purchase orders, monitor delivery, price discrepancy resolution

15%        Pursue and report cost saving opportunities and process improvements

15%        Meetings, discussions, data collection,  reports, travel, tours.

Experience:

Senior Buyer:

2 – 3 year contract position

Work closely with Capital Projects Procurement group to administer procurement documents including RFQ’s, tenders, vendor set up information, bid acknowledgements, T’s & C’s to ensure a timely and accurate procurement process.

Duties:

50% RFP/RFQ Management

  • collecting/confirming contact information for Vendors being consider on RFQ/RFP’s
  • creating the events including uploading of SOW, T&C’s Safety Docs
  • confirming bid acknowledgement and that the vendors received the packages
  • administer the RFI’s/clarifications from bidders including commercial / technical information
  • post clarifications/addendums to bidders and monitor e-forum,  include rescheduling event as required
  • download submissions and move into Livelink and share Commercial docs with Buyers and technical with Package Engineers for bid review
  • send/receive out bid clarifications
  • Send out regret letters

25% Purchase Order

  • PO expediting and PO close outs
  • confirm PO receipt and scheduling
  • administrate service agreement signatures from Vendor and Mosaic Contract Administration.

5% Vendor Set up

  • gather information for vendor setup T&C’s, Ethics , EFT, complete set up forms and expedite vendor set up internally.

10% A/P

  • assist with A/P issues

Electrical Engineer

This position is responsible for the owners overview of the electrical and instrument systems to ensure the correct systems are designed and specified during engineering, installed during construction and used and maintained during operation.

General Accountability & Objectives: Reporting to the VP Projects / VP Technology and Engineering, the Electrical Engineer will responsible, for the following tasks (and others as applicable):

  • Support Western Potash HSSE policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance to all company policies, procedures and guidelines, including all purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Confer with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products
  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical and instrument systems, equipment, facilities and components
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
  • Direct and coordinate, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and WPC requirements
  • Perform detailed calculations to compute and check electrical loads, systems, controls and operations.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Review, and when required Prepare specifications for purchase of electrical and instrument and equipment.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications of electrical and instrument systems, and general arrangement drawings to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and WPC requirements.
  • Act as liaison between WPC and SaskPower and any sub-vendors as required
  • Prepare regular update reports and presentations to management, and participate in vendor / engineering / team and management meetings.
  • Work closely with other firms, suppliers, consultants and other areas in the company in order to deliver the best engineering, schedule and cost outcomes.

Requirements

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Potash Experience is strongly preferred.
  • On site field experience with construction, commissioning and maintenance is preferable.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Able to travel both within Canada and internationally as required.
