The Work Management Coordinator is accountable for the development of work scope, (operating, engineering, outage and project) coordinating/obtaining necessary approvals and subsequent change control.

  • Ensure logic, schedules, cost reports and work programs are established in support of the defined scope of work.
  • Anticipate, direct and make decisions on all work associated with the planning and scheduling process, changing priorities, communicating to work groups and exercising sound judgment to effectively facilitate the safe and productive completion of work programs.
  • Clarify work boundaries to ensure that responsibilities are clearly defined for tasks and the work boundaries are well managed.
  • Analyze performance to identify lessons learned and incorporate into future work.
  • Provide team leadership to a complement of staff assisting with schedule preparation, cost and resource estimates for all associated work programs.

Requirements

  • Strong P6 experience 
  • Min 3yrs in work planning/project planning
  • Experience at a Candu generating station
  • Current security clearance from a Candu nuclear station in Canada

 

 

Project Coordinator, On Line Wiring

Project Coordinator/PLANNER

As a Project Coordinator/Planner, you will be involved in the following areas, related to the Online Wiring Project: 

  • Support the project team by coordinating and organizing Assigned Project activities, resources and information;  
  • Provide project management support by developing detailed plans for Assigned Project execution for each phase of the Assigned Project, including total completion of the Assigned Project;
  • Work closely with all project team members to ensure adequate project alignment and coordination is occurring at all levels.
  • Provide input for updating the Assigned Project work schedule, based on progress while working within an integrated team environment;
  • Monitor and deliver reporting on performance, track completion of work as scheduled, track status of actions for the project team, liaise between different areas of the Assigned Project, including internal and external stakeholders, and providing recommendations on recovery of the performance of the Assigned Project;
  • Identify when actual performance does not meet planned performance in accordance with the Assigned Project work schedule and provide recommendations for corrective actions to the project team to improve performance;
  • Support the Project Manager in scoping, planning and implementing Assigned Projects within the work program.;
  • Support the Project Manager in the development of detailed execution plans while maintaining the element of safety within a nuclear facility;
  • Prepare other reports to provide information and data to internal and external stakeholders as required, with input from Project Controls;
  • Supporting the Project Manager as required; and
  • Review Assigned Projects P6 work schedules to interface with the Project Controls Scheduler (read access).

Job Overview

  1. Provide technical expertise, analysis, assessment, and preparation for nuclear strategic and business planning and programming in assigned areas of responsibilities.
  2. The position is responsible for executing risk assessments as required to provide the Manager with the means to identify, assess, and monitor risks to our Waste Program.
  3. Provide technical assistance and guidance in the development of business and work program policies, procedures, processes, and initiatives for the Business Unit.
  4. The position is responsible for providing support in developing and challenging business cases to support investment and technical decisions
  5. Provide appropriate support on Nuclear communications and liaison with relevant parties both internal and external to Nuclear and OPG.
  6. Accountable developing an integrated waste plan for the Western Waste Management Facility.  It will involved developing/updating and integrating a low level waste plan, trench plan, large metal object plan and a waste minimization and segregation plan.

Qualifications

  1. Requires broad experience to be familiar with the overall operation of nuclear site facilities involved and nuclear waste specific facilities requirements. Requires extensive experience in Canadian and international nuclear waste processing and storage technologies. Requires experience in tools and business strategies to plan and provide the program required by Operations. Requires experience to ensure that the facilities and processes comply with best practices and industry standards. 
  2. Requires a sound knowledge of scientific and engineering principles related to nuclear waste management theory and practice.  Requires a good knowledge of English to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in written format in support of the work function.
  3. This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training (Grade XII plus 5 years) in Business, Science or Urban Planning.

Job requirements:

 

  • Solid knowledge of HR data structures and interrelationships within an HRIS solution
  • Strong analytical and technical skills to gather, interpret and report on data from various sources such as data warehouses and transactional systems
  • A customer service orientation with a demonstrated track record of partnering with users and business clients to resolve problems and generate creative solutions
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi project environment with shifting priorities, and the ability to reassess and reprioritize competing business needs
  • Understanding of ERP systems, including Workday would be an asset

Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for supporting the core HRIS and other HR technology and related integrations
  • Responsible for configuration of enhancements, break-fix and resolution of problems to support day to day operations including working with IT to ensure ongoing availability of HR systems
  • Contributes to the review of changes, impact analysis, and regression testing arising from various Human Resources initiatives, including systems upgrade/implementation
  • Develops systems requirements documentation / specification, conducts testing, prepares and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test scripts and supports data conversion activities as required
  • Provides expert technical judgment on business processes and systems to support the development of effective strategies for optimum operation, development and improvement
  • Performs tasks involved in the various stages of the system development cycle, including business process re-engineering
  • Provides strong specialist support, often necessary to influence, persuade or educate others on the objectives and details of Human Resources systems and processes
  • Produces ad hoc reports for business as needed

Construction Work Planner (Electrical, Mechanical and Civil)

The Construction Work Planner is located at our clients work site (Bruce Power) located in Tiverton, Ontario and typically reports directly to the Senior Project Manager.

The Construction Work Planner is responsible for understanding, walking down and creating planned work orders in the work management system for the purpose of project implementation activities for Bruce Power Life Extension Program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follow all Black and McDonald’s Quality Managed System procedures for work planning.
  • Interpret design documents for scope installation
  • Write detailed work instructions to accomplish field implementation – this includes knowledge of and reference to many station procedures, standards and specifications.
  • Apply knowledge of construction methods and station configuration to create the work task structure breakdown to implement the project.
