The Raise has partnered with our client, a design-build energy efficiency company working with industry leaders to help accomplish their energy savings goals by providing them with the expertise, knowledge and tools needed to do so. They specialize in energy efficiency projects including LED lighting and control upgrades, lighting redesigns, high-efficiency boiler and HVAC system upgrades, maintenance and retro-commissioning of building systems and equipment, and more. They are a team of talented, passionate engineers, with a flexible and casual culture. Now they’re looking for you: their new Mechanical Engineer to join their successful team.    

 

What you will be doing:

As their new Mechanical Engineer – High Efficiency Equipment for Multi-Unit Residential Buildings, you will be reporting to the Operations Manager and will work with a team of architects, designers, and project managers to ensure that their projects are completed on time, on budget and exceed client expectations.

Practically speaking, you will:

  • Design, develop and optimize mechanical systems and equipment for multi-unit residential buildings, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and provide recommendations for optimal equipment selection and integration with other building systems.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure designs meet all relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee construction activities, perform site inspections, and provide technical guidance to construction teams.
  • Perform simulations, analyses, and calculations to evaluate system performance and energy savings potential.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other project-related documents.
  • Keep up to date with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering, energy efficiency and sustainability.

 The Details

  • This is a full-time permanent position for 8 hours day shifts Monday to Friday schedule. The ideal candidate will be based in the client Calgary, AB location or working remotely from Edmonton, AB or Vancouver, BC.
  • The position offers Competitive wages, standard healthcare benefits package, vacation, professional growth.
  • Traveling will be required up to 25% within a West area of Canada.

 

What you will bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems for multi-unit residential buildings.
  • Experience with energy-efficient HVAC systems, domestic hot water systems, and plumbing systems.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan and British Columbia would be seen as a strong advantage.
