Our Public Sector Client in Toronto is seeking engaging, outgoing and enthusiastic individuals to be part of their outdoor Skate Operations & Rink Crew, providing visitors with exceptional experiences. You will provide quality in-person, front counter customer services by providing timely and accurate information related to the skate and Winter Program events and services in both an indoor/ outdoor retail and active environment. You will be providing services such as cash handling, skate rentals, rink guard, light maintenance, etc. Proficiency in skating is as an asset.

Customer Service and Communication Skills: You have experience providing in-person, front counter customer service responding to inquiries, providing advice and information, and resolving customer issues in a high-volume environment. Experience in cash handling and rink operations is an asset.

Problem Solving: You have problem solving skills to assess situations and determine appropriate course of action. You are professional when interacting with customers.

Collaboration and Organizational Skills: You have flexibility and collaboration skills to effectively work in a team-driven environment and deliver operational requirements. You have the ability to organize and prioritize workloads while providing attention to detail.

Financial Skills: Experience handling cash and operating cash registers and/or point of sale machines as asset.

Major Duties and Responsibilities – General: Assists in the general maintenance and upkeep of the ice arena area to include sweeping, cleaning and other custodial duties. Assists in maintaining rental skates. Knows emergency procedures for equipment and evacuation plan. Carries out a continuous effort to improve operations and works cooperatively to provide continuous improvement and customer-driven service. Performs other related duties as assigned. The employee may be required to lift light and occasionally heavy objects up to 50 pounds and set up equipment for operations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities – Rink Guard: In addition to the General duties outlined above, Rink Guards must be proficient in skating, monitor public skating to ensure safe operations both on and off the ice and execute rink prep and closing duties.
