Ian Martin Workforce is working with a well-established and leading solutions provider of Material Handling Equipment. They have a large inventory of cranes and provide installations and service to their clients.  They have experienced tremendous growth and need an experienced Crane Technician to join their team and lead a crew.

As their new Technician, you have a background in Heavy Machinery moving and installation. You’re mechanically and electrically inclined along with structural welding and fitting experience.  You like working in heavy duty trades, don’t mind working 50 hours a week and able to maintain a positive attitude when having to overcome a challenge.

You will be…

  • Inspect equipment to defect faults and malfunctions of crane equipment
  • Utilize experience to analyze and determine extent of repair required
  • Resolve emergency breakdown situations of Crane and other equipment as necessary including responding to after-hours service calls when required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work on material handling equipment
  • Accurately complete inspection reports and daily time sheets, submitting in a timely manner
  • Constantly utilizing problem solving skills
  • Communicate with customers and management on a daily basis
  • Work under time constraints and under pressure
  • Drive to customer sites on a daily basis in company vehicle

As their new Shop Millwright Technician, you love tearing a machine down to it's nuts and bolts. You could spend all day taking them apart and build them back.  You have a mechanic mindset and enjoy putting them back together – only better!

You have experience in inspect, assess and repair electric chain hoists, manual chain hoists, air hoists, wire rope hoists, crane bridge drives, trolley motors, trolley gearboxes, hoist motors, hoist gearboxes, and other overhead crane related products. With several facilities across the GTA, the Vaughan location is seeking a Maintenance Manager that can ensure the execution of regular preventive maintenance on all manufacturing machines and facility equipment.  You are able to organize drawings and prepare drawing packages for employees and contractors on site.

What will be your job responsibilities?

  • Leads a team of Maintenance Technicians to ensure all manufacturing machines and equipment are being maintained in a professional and timely manner.
  • Performs high level of machine trouble shooting.
  • Involves in all aspects of building maintenance requirements for all new construction, renovations and updates to current systems, and according to legal requirement as well as oversees a variety of plumbing and carpentry functions.
  • Coordinates and monitors contractor activities for projects.
  • Sets priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work.
  • Maintains adequate supplies and equipment for the maintenance department.
  • Meet with Fire Department, Hydro, etc. as required.
  • Operates grounds-keeping power equipment and maintain external property.
  • Adheres to departmental procedures and systems, e.g., "systems for preventative maintenance", "maintenance requisitions", scheduled work and continued quality improvement/risk management programs.
  • Maintains inventory of equipment, manuals and warranties.
  • Responsible for contracting and coordinating snow removal, ice safety, and landscaping of property.
  • Organizes invoices and accounts payable
  • Prepares monthly reports and budget.
  • Prepares capital plan in consultation with maintenance committee.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • 5 years of hands-on experience in machine maintenance, preferably have 2 years’ experience in Facility Management.
  • Good communication skills, with external contractors and colleagues within the company.
  • Knowledge in facility and maintenance management, Building code, fire code, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems.
  • Ability to complete work self-directed and to manage a team.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation
  • Able to create alternative solutions to problems
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate ability to exercise necessary cost control measures
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and email
  • First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered an asset

  • Manufacture precision-machined components working to tolerances of +/- .030”
  • Proficiency interpreting complex manufacturing drawings with GDT specifications

Ian Martin Workforce is working with a leading supplier of automotive parts to Tier 1 and OEM companies.  They specialize in high-pressure aluminum die casting and precision machining.  They are looking for an experienced Industrial Millwright to join their team in a permanent, long-term position. This would be a great position for someone that enjoys Troubleshooting, knows how costly downtime can be in Automotive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing high pressure die cast equipment.
  • Moving machinery and aligning machines including testing reassembled equipment and making necessary adjustments and repairs as needed.
  • Carry out the Preventative and Predictive maintenance program and all required documentation.
  • Track and document monthly PM reports and daily work orders in a timely manner, identify equipment breakdown causes and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Safely use hand and power tools; follow safety protocols when installing machinery, supporting equipment and structures on all machinery and equipment.
  • Be an active participant in Safety and Maintenance meetings.
  • Mentoring Apprentices and newly licensed Journeyman.

  • Certification of Qualification 433A Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or relevant experience.
  • Comfortable working 3-Shift Rotating Schedule. 1 week per Shift.  Days (7am to 3pm), Afternoons (3pm to 11pm), Nights (11pm to 7am).
  • Enjoy physically demanding work and can handle working in a hot environment.

Civil Estimator

The Estimator will centralize and standardize our bid processes as a key member of our Business Development team. This individual will support Operations in the development, management, and continuous improvement of the bid process. The Estimator will ensure proposals meet consistent standards and coordinate the collection of key proposal inputs such as scope, costs, engineering requirements, examples of previous projects, and other information required to respond to bids or requests for proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the bid process including initiating bid kick off meetings with internal stakeholders, respond to pre-qualifications, RFQ's, RFP's and preparing bid for General Manager's review and approval.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure all bids are submitted on time and are of consistent quality.
  • Prepare contract briefing sheets so important contract compliance items are summarized and communicated to Operations.
  • Interact with team members on pricing exercises.
  • Document customer requirements, working with internal departments, and create proposals to meet requirements.
  • Maintain strong internal relationships to gather relevant, accurate, information.
  • Calculation of quantities and take offs.
  • Request pricing from subcontractors and material suppliers.
  • Preparing big bond and insurance requests for contracts.
  • Update and maintain contract and customer files.
  • Organize bid submission reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
  • 5 years of relevant experience with estimating, bid management, and contract management.
  • Experience in the Construction industry is considered an asset.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including meeting facilitation.
  • Exceptional written and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with estimating systems including HCSS HeavyBid, as well as MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently to complete team deliverables.

You will be…

  • Manage and schedule employees for optimal efficiency and quality repairs done on time.

  • Maintain accurate repair order flow to satisfy shop and customer requirements.
  • Manage and schedule current capacity of repair, maintenance and refurbishment bays, the associated service equipment and tools for optimal use.
  • Manage, oversee and populate data into a computerized work flow tracking systems.
  • Work with finance on customer invoicing and accounts receivable.
  • Work with purchasing & materials department on vendor purchasing & payments.
  • Work with the business development team on certain sales efforts.

  • Minimum five (5) of experience supervising body repairs and/or assembly of heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Ten (10) plus years of direct experience in an automotive/truck environment is preferred.

  • Assisting the Greer Operator with the Molding Machine to produce slabs of wax by pouring liquid wax into pans on a conveyor system that runs them into a cooling chamber; slabs come out frozen and then need to be packed
  • Manually packs slabs and use robotics to put boxes onto pallets
  • Clearly communicating with your team on regular basis to ensure that production maintains its quality and speed
  • Ensure correct labeling of each box

Chief Engineer – Nuclear Reactor Design

We are looking for a strong leader to lead the North American design activities including the design of the molten salt reactor demonstration project from concept stage through detailed design and build. You will lead a group of talented designers and ensure all elements of the plant design are accounted for moving forward in synergy.
