Raise is hiring a Human Resources Advisor  for Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure. This position is a six (6) month contract located in Calgary, Alberta. We are actively seeking talented professionals like you to drive these crucial initiatives forward.

Description

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our employees and fostering a positive work environment. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance and expertise on a range of HR matters.

Accountabilities

  • Act as a point of escalation for questions, interpreting, and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Instruct staff on how to advise management on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment.
  • Resolve disputes and administer disciplinary procedures.
  • Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Plan, direct and supervise and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labor relations and employee relations.
  • May represent organization in HR meetings.

Required

  • 5-7 years of experience with strong knowledge of benefit and pay-scale systems.
  • Strong knowledge of legal policies and procedures related to hiring practices (i.e., equal employment opportunity and affirmative action).
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)..
  • Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
