Job Purpose:

  • The cost estimator's conclusions will help the company assess the feasibility of moving forward with the proposed project.
  • Specifically, a project estimator will take into consideration all relevant factors in the plan such as materials, labor and equipment, as well as related expenses including as insurance, taxes and incidental costs due to delays.

Job Description:

Duties:

  • Process and analyze data for a field inventory project.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with GIS solutions, software and processes.
  • Run QA/QC routines on GIS electric distribution data.
  • Creating business reports, supporting data reconciliation with various applications and systems.

Skills:

  • They should also have strong interpersonal, problem solving, writing skills while being able to work independently.
  • They must be good at multi-tasking, as they handle several tasks related to technical analysis at the same time.
  • Looking for strong knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS Platform.
  • Proficient in MS Office and an understanding of electric distribution networks is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geographical Information Systems or a related field is required.

Job Purpose:

  • The newly formed PMO/CMO team within the Transmission, Generation, and Energy Procurement Business Unit is at the forefront of delivering our Vision of Leadership in Transmission (Project Volt) portfolio and other large, complex, cross-functional, and transformative projects. In order to achieve this, we need to accelerate our technology deployment and asset modernization by increasing our Capital spend by $2B over the next 10 years.
  • This role provides a hugely exciting opportunity for someone to immerse themselves into the significant project management associated with this effort as well as others within the Transmission, Generation, and Energy Procurement business. We are looking for the right person to join an enthusiastic team, whose focus is to manage the business to achieve our ambitious goals.
  • The successful candidate will have strong business acumen, excellent organizational skills, and desire to improve the Transmission, Generation, and Energy Procurement business.

Key Accountabilities:

Work with cross-functional teams to successfully plan, organize, lead, and control high-profile projects across the Transmission, Generation, and Energy Procurement business on time, on budget, and within scope.

  • Plan projects, including defining the scope, developing the project plan, and identifying applicable policies and procedures to support the achievement of the project objectives
  • Organize projects, including defining roles, responsibilities, structure, documentation, resources, and ways of working
  • Lead projects, including building relationships, managing stakeholders, coordinating work, identifying change management / project issues, and preparing / implementing recommendations to address the issues
  • Control projects, including reporting, evaluating, and correcting as needed to achieve the objectives and assuring the adherence to internal control guidelines, methodologies, and toolsets. As well as identifying and escalating project risks, financial risks, and mitigation plans

Capability Requirements:

  • Ability to manage projects on time, on budget, and within scope
  • Knowledge of business processes to provide guidance and feedback when developing project plans
  • Ability to think strategically and execute on change management strategies
  • Proven experience managing risks and issues across projects
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and effectively collaborate and partner with them

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering discipline and/or significant relevant project management, engineering and construction experience in all aspects of utility substation/line construction operations
  • 5+ years of experience with project management or equivalent relevant experience
  • Certified Project Management Professional preferred

Electric Asset Data GIS Analyst

 

We have an immediate opening for a “GIS Analyst”  for a 12 months contract assignment in Syracuse, NY.

Job Purpose:

  • Hands on experience working with Electric utility GIS models and systems – Smallworld or ESRI
  • Experience working with utility asset information – particularly electric distribution
  • Experience working with other systems including work and document management
  • Understanding of data management and quality principles

Notes:

  • More electric experience requested as compared to ArcGIS experience
  • ArcGIS experience can be taught but the electric experience is valuable when a virtual walk down of the electricity distribution system occurs to confirm the connectivity model
  • The connectivity model is a simple way of indicating that all of the components on the electric distribution system align
  • The contractor will be working on scrubbing the data in the current GIS
  • Preferred experience with Smallworld GIS
  • GIS knowledge preferred else will also consider utility configuration experience
  • Training is provided for the contractor

Job Description:

  • The Executive Assistant plays a critical role providing high level administrative support to the Vice President, thereby maximizing the impact of this leader.
  • This is a dynamic and fast-paced position, requiring a highly organized professional, who can juggle many tasks at once, and is comfortable interfacing with all levels of internal management and staff as well as with external stakeholders.
  • The Executive Assistant maintains and protects highly confidential corporate information and must have strong emotional intelligence, high ethical standards, and be capable of working independently

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Effectively and efficiently manages internal and external stakeholder engagements and demands through a complex calendar, travel logistics, numerous internal and external phone calls, and expense reports with multiple exchange rates, handling all details with competent expertise.
  • Anticipate, prepare and organize agendas, files, and presentation materials for Executives presentations and meetings.
  • Conserves executive's time by: reading, researching, and routing correspondence; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; initiating telecommunications, and managing expense reports.
  • Continuously monitors and manages multiple methods of communication through internal/external email, internal/external phone calls, and in-person inquiries.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Senior Level Executives.
  • Proven competencies in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required.
  • Experience with SAP a plus.
